D.O.G.S. Penultimate Round at Riverside Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Well, we were blessed indeed. The weather forecast was not good for the afternoon - rain all afternoon it said. How wrong could it have been as the 52 players who came for our fifth and penultimate round at Riverside enjoyed a beautiful afternoon for golf with not even a hint of rain or thunder. The course was in its usual good condition - the green on Hole 3 being just about unplayable - we are sure the course is working on it but if anyone from the management of Riverside reads this - please take note.

One newcomer this week - Natalia Halimarta - welcome and please become a regular.

This week was the first for us assigning a scorer to each group on myGolf2u and it certainly worked with the compilation of the final results taking almost no time afterwards. I want to say a huge Thank You to everyone for so willingly supporting this and it will now be our norm each week.

So, to the play...

A strong showing by the girls again this week with Rey Moore taking one of the Nearest to the Pin and Longest Drive prizes. Meher Noronha took the other Longest Drive and Shinta Sari the other Drive & Pitch prizes. John Gustke took the other Nearest to the Pin and Wille Noronha, not to be outdone by his daughter, took the other Drive & Pitch prize.

Eric Mary managed to navigate the greens, despite their condition, to be this week's Putting Champion. Colin Shanks perhaps lived up to his name taking both the Booby and Most Exercise Trophies this week - way to go Colin!

It took a count back to determine the Lowest Gross winner with Nic Verdenal winning out over Jeremy Oberoi. Jeremy didn't go home empty handed though as he took the Runner Up prize - again on a count back - always the best man, never the groom, at least this week!

So this led the way for David Moore to win the Little Dog this week and become our Weekly Champion - a small consolation as he and Rey sadly had one of their dogs, Whisky, pass away this week!

Note as evidence: Jeremy collected the prizes for Wille and Meher!

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!

So, we are getting ever closer to the Big Dog coming out to play. With only one round left, Nic Verdenal is just holding on to his lead at the top of the Eclectic from Willie Noronha. There's only 3 points separating the top five - can Nic win back-to-back Blue Jackets following his first at Pondok Cabe at the end of last year - or is he going to be denied the honour! We will have to wait until next week for our final round at Riverside! You can see the results on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.

After Riverside we will be going to Modern Golf Club in Tangerang. It's already up on myGolf2u and the Website and open for registration. We start immediately after next week on the 17th February.

So, as we head into the final round in this Eclectic Series, grab a friend and please sign up early to avoid disappointment and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
