Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
31 players turned up for D.O.G.S second GOBAR at Permata Sentul. The course was quite busy so the starter arranged for us to have a shotgun start. The weather was perfect for a day of golf and a late afternoon rainstorm that threatened did not materialize. Pace was methodical but everyone finished before sunset.
Welcome to Akhil Aggarwal, we hope you enjoyed the day and we'll see you back soon.

On the 8th hole Timo Karonen watched in horror as his tee shot was going 50m left of the pin towards the penalty area. Fortunately for him, it hit a steel pole and bounced to the edge of the green where he made an easy chip and putt for par; easy game! Make sure you rub his head for luck before teeing off next week.

Some good numbers put up on Saturday; Gaurav Shirke shot a 79 to win Lowest Gross and gather a Longest Drive on the way. Jude Alexander Took the other Longest Drive, putting Champion and scored 42 points, enough for Runner Up. Gazza Chapman was a 2 prize winner taking the coveted Booby Prize and Most Exercise awards. The biggest smile of the day went to Holger Molendyk who collected a Nearest to Pin, shot his best round ever (80), and became our Weekly Champion!
Congratulations to all our winners.

Late arrivals should look for their scorecards on the signup board and check with the starter on where they are supposed to go. If we have not heard from you by the time we head to the tee boxes, we will assume you are not coming and no arrangements will be made with the starter.
See you at the course,

Rules
The Rules and what it means when we play.
Courtesy of fellow Dog, Jens Roestel, R&A First Grade Umpire.
With over 2 years gone since the rules changes implemented in 2019 many players are still unaware of them.
Here are the 20 must know New Rules
Drop from knee height (NOT shoulder height).
Measure the area to drop in with the longest club in your bag (excluding putter).
Drop in and play from the relief area.
When dropping back-on-the-line, your ball cannot be played from nearer the hole than your chosen reference point.
Time to search for a lost ball is 3 minutes (NOT 5 minutes).
If you accidentally move your ball when searching for it you may replace it without penalty.
No penalty for a double hit, it only counts as one stroke.
No penalty if your ball hits you or your equipment accidentally after a stroke.
No penalty if your ball strikes the flagstick when you have chosen to leave it in the hole.
Spike mark and other shoe damage on the putting green can be repaired.
Ball accidentally moved on the putting green - no penalty and replace to original position.
Ball marked, lifted and replaced on the putting green is moved by wind to another position - replace ball on the original spot.
Penalty areas replace water hazards, and you can move loose impediments, ground your club and take practice swings in penalty areas without penalty, just as you can on the fairway or in the rough.
You can't take relief from a penalty area unless you are at least 95% certain your ball is in the penalty area.
In bunkers you can move loose impediments.
In bunkers you cannot touch the sand with your club in the area right in front of or right behind your ball, during your backswing or in taking practice swings
Free relief is allowed if your ball is embedded on the fairway or in the rough. "embedded" means that part of your ball is below the level of the ground).
If a player has an unplayable ball in bunker there is the option to drop outside the bunker for 2 penalty strokes.
Players caddie or partner cannot stand behind player once they begin taking their stance.
For quick Pace of Play it is recommended that players take no longer than 40 seconds to make a stroke and normally should be able to play more quickly than that. "Ready Golf" is encouraged in stroke play.
If you have any questions about rules please drop us a note to jakartadogs@gmail.com and our Rules Guy Jens Roestel will answer on our website.
