D.O.G.S. Third Round at Riverside Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

At last, blue skies and sunshine greeted us as we arrived for our third round at Riverside. 45 players made the journey for what turned out to be a perfect afternoon for golf - at least weather wise - which meant all players actually completed the full 18 holes with no delays and in good time. Long may this continue!

One new face to welcome, Zeb Tay, and some faces we haven't seen for a while, Angel Barcena, Anna Eriksson, Marc Desilets and Simone Toniolo - welcome all and hope we see you again in the very near future.

So, we got off on time again with our usual semi shotgun, this time from the front nine. It was noticed that the Club had decided to move some of the pin positions during our round so, as you can imagine, "words' were had with the club afterwards! Apologies if that affected any Nearest to the Pin or Drive & Pitch results. It is also a bit disappointing to see some of the greens in such bad conditions which made putting perhaps more difficult - at least that's the reason many are using!!

Anyway, to the play: Axel Hertzke and Alberto Gonzales hit some very accurate tee shots to take the Nearest to the Pin prizes as did Jeremy Oberoi and Rod Williams (yeah) with their approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch prizes. Wille Noronha and Gracie Prangel kept their drives in the fairway to take the Longest Drive prizes - well done Gracie, good to see the next generation showing us oldies how to do it!

As you all know, if you want to be included in the running for the Putting Champion you must record and add up your putts BUT you must also add up your putts correctly! Sorry we don't really have the time on the day but I do check in the relaxed atmosphere of my study at home on a Sunday morning....so, despite Richard Mau having a great round, it was, in fact, Roger Finnie who had the lowest putts and will be awarded the Putting Champion prize when we next meet - sorry Richard!

Now, just to keep it all in the family, Christian decided to let his wife, Agnes Berkenhoff take both the Booby Prize and the Most Exercise Trophy home to add to his collection - what a pair!

Leon Bivolaru had a good round but had to settle for the Runner Up prize this week. This left the way clear for Richard Mau to claim the Lowest Gross prize with an impressive 74 off the stick and the Little Dog becoming this week's Champion.

We need more on-course photos next time every one please.

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!

So, with 3 rounds now complete, or at least this round was, the Eclectic is starting to take more proper shape with Richard Mau and Nic Verdenal currently sitting at the top. We are only halfway so there's plenty of time for all that to change. You can see the results on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.

Next week sees our annual match play competition against Pocksia. Captain Dougie will be announcing the team and the match pairings shortly so look out for that please. The day will, of course, also be our fourth round in this Eclectic Series for all players, whether you're in the match or not.

Pocksia are arranging a Buffet Dinner at the club immediately afterwards to which all, and their significant other half's, are invited. Please can you let Rod or Roger Finnie know as soon as possible if you are intending to partake of the buffet. The cost will be IDR200.000 per head payable on the day - thanks.

So as we move to the fourth round, grab a friend and please sign up early to avoid disappointment and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
