Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

The D.O.G.S. reached the halfway point of the Rainbow Hills Eclectic with yet another excellent turnout. Once again, the starter had everyone away right on schedule and, with groups keeping up nicely, the entire field completed the round in just over 4½ hours—an excellent pace for a full field.
Conditions were ideal for golf once again, with pleasant temperatures and another smooth afternoon around Rainbow Hills. The quick pace of play meant everyone was back in the clubhouse with plenty of daylight remaining to enjoy a well-earned cool beverage and the prize presentation.
A warm welcome to Marius Heppe, we hope you enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing you back on the course again soon.
The prizes were well spread around the field. Richard Mau and Axel Hertzke claimed Nearest to Pin honours, while the Longest Drives went to Stuart Clark and Anirudh Katre, with Anirudh also adding a Drive & Pitch prize to his collection. The remaining Drive & Pitch prize went to Sepand Zarrabi, while Richard returned to the prize table after mastering the greens to become Putting Champion with a superb 25 putts.
The friendly rivalry in the Grace-Chandra household heated up this week. After Cucu "The Bionic Woman" Chandra spent the opening rounds collecting Booby Prize and Most Exercise awards, Tom Grace made sure his name joined the family honours list by claiming this week's Booby Prize. Tim Fehling edged out Tom by one stroke to take home the Most Exercise award after an adventurous afternoon around Rainbow Hills.
Tim Knight fired an excellent 75 to claim Lowest Gross honours. Michael Adick enjoyed one of his best rounds of the season to finish Runner-Up with 40 points, before Tim returned to the front once more to collect the Little Dog as Weekly Champion.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
With three rounds completed, the Eclectic competition has reached its halfway point and the leaderboard is beginning to take shape. Hitoshi Maruyama and Richard Mau are locked together at the top, with Axel Hertzke just half a shot behind. There is, however, very little separating the leading group, and with three rounds still to play there is plenty of time for the chasing pack to make their move.
Full results can be viewed on the leaderboard.
The competition is heating up, and every hole is becoming more important. Sign up early and join us next week as the battle for the Big Dog continues..

Rules Information
Embedded Ball Relief
Many golfers think you only get free relief if your ball plugs in the fairway.
Not true.
Since the Rules changed, you generally get free relief for an embedded ball anywhere in the general area, including the rough, unless a Local Rule restricts it.
What is the "General Area"?
The General Area is simply everywhere on the course except:
The teeing area of the hole you're playing.
Penalty areas.
Bunkers.
The putting green of the hole you're playing.
Any designated No Play Zone.
So yes, the rough, fairway, first cut and even areas under trees are all part of the General Area.
