D.O.G.S. Second Round at Gunung Geulis Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

There was a bit of a delay getting underway this week, with several players arriving late. Most of the D.O.G.S. have been navigating Jakarta for long enough to know that weekend traffic should never come as a surprise, so please give yourself plenty of time to get to the course. It is much easier to get everyone away on time when the full field is there and ready to play.

Gunung Geulis was very busy, and once underway the pace of play was steady, although it certainly could not be described as rapid. The important thing was that everyone managed to get around and finish their round.

We did have one small problem at the end of the day, with the competition flags from the back nine not making their way back to the clubhouse. Fortunately, the players were able to remember enough to determine the winners. Picking up the flags is nothing new and is something the D.O.G.S. have always relied on the final groups to do. With a normal start, it is generally pretty obvious when your group is the last one through. When we are starting from both Holes 1 and 10, we need the last groups on each side to collect the flags during their back nine and bring them home.

There were plenty of familiar names amongst this week's winners. Sepand Zarrabi and Richard Mau collected the Nearest the Pin prizes, while Daniel DGP and Chris Anderson took the Longest Drives. John Brown picked up Drive & Pitch on Hole 4, with Chris adding the Hole 13 Drive & Pitch to his Longest Drive prize.

Roger Finnie needed just 25 putts to take Putting Champion and also produced the day's Lowest Gross with an 82. At the other end of proceedings, Aprilianty N certainly got full value from the course with a 118 to take Most Exercise, while Chris Barnett collected the Booby Prize with 23 points.

Tom Grace put together a very good 40 points to finish Runner-Up, but Tony Wood went one better with 41 points to become this week's Little Dog and Weekly Champion.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners!

After two rounds of the Eclectic, Chris Anderson leads on 69.50, followed by Peter Beach on 71.50 and Axel Hertzke on 73.00. With four rounds remaining, there is still plenty of golf to be played and plenty of opportunities to improve those hole-by-hole scores.

Full results can be viewed on the leaderboard.

D.O.G.S. Are 2026 Jakarta Inter-league Champions!

A huge congratulations to the D.O.G.S. Inter-league team, who have officially clinched the 2026 Jakarta Inter-league Championship with one match still to play.

The D.O.G.S. went into last weekend’s match against the Sandbaggers leading the standings and produced a 5–0 clean sweep at Jagorawi New Course, collecting the maximum 10 points and taking the season total to 45 points.

With the Wolves moving to 34 points and Pocksia to 30, neither can now catch the D.O.G.S. with only one round remaining — meaning the title is officially ours.

This is the first Jakarta Inter-league Championship in D.O.G.S. history, after joining the competition in 2021. A fantastic achievement by Captain Dougy and everyone who has represented the D.O.G.S. throughout the season.

There is still one match to go against JAWS on November 15 at Jagorawi Old Course, followed by the prize giving — but this time the D.O.G.S. will be arriving there as 2026 CHAMPIONS! 🏆🐕

The D.O.G.S. return to Gunung Geulis on SUNDAY, October 11 for Round 3 of the Eclectic. A reminder to check the schedule carefully, as three of our final four rounds will be played on Sundays. October 17 will be our final Saturday at Gunung Geulis, before we finish the tournament with two more Sunday rounds. And whichever day we're playing, give yourself plenty of time to get there — the traffic excuse has now officially been used for Round 2.

Day of the Dead Round

Our final round at Gunung Geulis has moved to Sunday, November 1, so Halloween is out and Day of the Dead is in!

Día de los Muertos is not a sombre occasion, but a colourful and joyful celebration of remembrance—honouring family and friends who are no longer with us. That sounds like a theme the D.O.G.S. can get behind.

There will be a prize for the best Day of the Dead-inspired outfit, so think colourful rather than simply scary: decorated skulls, skeletons, flowers, sombreros, bright shirts, face paint—or whatever creative interpretation you can manage while still swinging a golf club.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the D.O.G.S. come up with — the more colourful and creative, the better!
