D.O.G.S. Second Round at Rainbow Hills Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

Round 2 of the Rainbow Hills Eclectic once again attracted a full house, with every available starting position filled. It's great to see so many members eager to get out on the course, and thank you to everyone for continuing to support the D.O.G.S.

The starter had us underway right on time once again, and while the pace of play was a little more methodical than last week, the groups kept moving steadily and everyone was back in the clubhouse just before darkness settled in.

The weather once again smiled on us. Temperatures were comfortable throughout the afternoon, the fairways remained firm and continued to reward well-struck tee shots with plenty of extra roll. The Rainbow Hills greens are proving to be a different challenge to many of the courses we regularly play. They are quick, demanding and require a delicate touch, but they continue to roll beautifully and reward a well-struck putt.

It was also great to welcome Jeff Landau back to the D.O.G.S. during his annual visit to Indonesia.

A big thank you to Aknes for stepping in to help Kevin with the prize presentation. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.

The prizes were spread around the field this week. Doug McQuater and Claudio Ghelli claimed Nearest to Pin honours, while Indar Dhaliwal and Greg Thompson took home the Longest Drive prizes. Hitoshi Maruyama and Tim Knight were our Drive & Pitch winners, while Betha Wanggai mastered the Rainbow Hills greens to become Putting Champion with an excellent 28 putts.

Cucu "The Bionic Woman" Chandra returned to the prize table, this time completing the double by collecting both the Booby Prize and Most Exercise awards. We suspect there may have been a few extra kilometres added to her rehabilitation programme!

Axel Hertzke produced a superb 75 to claim Lowest Gross honours. Mike Webb finished Runner-Up before Terrence Martin rounded out the afternoon by collecting the Little Dog as Weekly Champion with an excellent 42 points.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners!

With two rounds now complete, the Eclectic leaderboard is beginning to take shape. Eric Mary holds a narrow lead, but there is very little separating the chasing pack, with several familiar names well within striking distance. As players continue to improve their hole-by-hole scores, positions are beginning to shuffle and the battle for the Big Dog is only going to get tighter.

Full results can be viewed on the leaderboard.

Next week marks the halfway point of the Eclectic competition, making every improvement that little bit more important.

Finally, a small reminder for anyone arriving late to the course. If you miss the committee before teeing off, please remember to pay your game fee after the round.

Demand continues to be extremely strong, with all available places filled for the second consecutive week. Sign up early to avoid disappointment and secure your place for Round 3.
