D.O.G.S. Second Round at Jakarta Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Well it seems Jakarta hasn't got the message that this is supposed to be the dry season! The 42 players who came out to the Jakarta Golf Club hoping to play our second round of this Eclectic Series were greeted with rain, rain and more rain with the prospect of anything different not looking good!

However, we did see some new and old faces so a welcome to Jacob Smith, John Stevens and Mark Patrick and a welcome back to an old Dog, Bernhard Leode. Bernhard won a blue jacket 10 years ago at Palm Hills golf course.

A hopeful few did eventually start but only 5 actually finished all 18 holes albeit in very damp conditions. All holes played will still count towards the Eclectic, please check out the full results so far here. For all others, including those who only managed 3 holes, there will be a full rain check for next week. The club has a list of names but should you have any questions on that please WA Rod directly.

One highlight of the week was John Gustke making his 2nd Hole in One in a month on Riverside's 14th Hole. Well done John! John and Dewi are off on their travels for a few months - including going to the Open at Royal Troon!

So, let's hope and pray for better weather next week and please sign up as soon as possible and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!

Rules Information

During the rainy season we frequently allow play under "Preferred Lies". A quick reminder, to keep play moving and avoid incorrectly called penalties, that when this is in play it is not necessary to mark your ball.

What happens when "Preferred Lies" is not in play but you have a dirty ball and are in a position that you are allowed to lift your ball? Are you allowed to clean it?

Quick answer is NO.

Check out this short video for more.
