D.O.G.S. Third Round at Rancamaya Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Another great day was enjoyed by the 43 players who made the journey to Rancamaya for our 3rd round and the half-way stage of our tournament. - Still no traffic - long may that continue! Good weather and a relatively dry course made play steady even though the greens need a little bit of post Ramadan maintenance.

Some welcome newcomers this week - Dene Heath, Suradet Phoounna and Gamma Akbar - welcome guys! Also, some faces we haven't seen in a while: Jim Korbilas, Carol Lindsay, Alex Nainggolan, Fiona Aprilda, Cindy Nurmadi and Jari Antikainen - great to see you all back after so long!

So to the play: Albert Smith and Hitoshi played accurate tee shots to take the Nearest to the Pin prizes as did newcomer Suradet Phoounna and Tim Knight with their approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch honours. The long hitters this week were Anirudh and Dene Heath taking the Longest Drive prizes. Claudio Ghelli managed to master the difficult greens becoming this week's Putting Champion.

Carol Lindsay announced her return to the D.O.G.S. by enjoying an afternoon walk around the beautiful real estate taking both the Booby and Most Exercise Trophies this week - good to see you back Carol.

Roberto Daniele had to settle for the Runner Up slot leaving newcomer Dene Heath to show he is a force to be reckoned with winning both the Lowest Gross and Little Dog this week becoming our Weekly Champion on his first timeout with us.....well done!

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!

Some unfinished business from last week - our Weekly Champion from round 2 - Laurie O'Connor.

So, that's 3 rounds complete taking us to the half-way stage in the race for the Big Dog and Blue Jacket. Daniel Park has been knocked off the top slot by Mr Garlic & Onions himself, Nic Verdenal. Can he stay there? Can Daniel regain his place or will someone else race to the top? Still 3 rounds left so a lot of golf to go - 54 holes (that's an LIV tournament just for those who wonder why it's called LIV!).

Full results after the third round can be seen on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.

So, we move ever closer to the big Rancamaya Weekend on the 4th/5th May. Just a reminder the Saturday May 4th will be the final round of the Eclectic and the annual Matchplay against TeeSet. This will be followed by a Buffet dinner upstairs in the club house. On Sunday the 5th we will have the Charity 4 person Florida Scramble - so you need to start thinking about your teams! Full details can be found here. Oh, and for those who want to stay overnight up at Rancamaya, please book your hotel early.

So, now we move to the 4th round, grab a friend and please sign up early to avoid disappointment and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
