Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!
Well, where to start? What a great day - apart from the weather - and a great turnout with 62 golfers and many more for our End of Year Party.
We were greeted by flags and banners with the Riverside Staff helping out with registration and giving out caps and umbrellas kindly donated by Joseph Peries from Applus Indonesia. As we waited to get on the course Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers were available just to get everyone relaxed and into the party mood.
So with everyone suitably lubricated tee off was on time with the usual shotgun with play going well until after around 9 holes; the sirens sounded and the storms came. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only golf played so the Little Dog had go back to his kennel until another day - but not so the Big Dog as this was our final round of this Eclectic Series.
Attention turned to the celebration of what has been a fantastic year for the D.O.G.S. and it is entirely fitting that your committee says a huge THANK YOU to all who have supported us throughout the year - it makes it all very worthwhile. We need to also thank all our sponsors who have supported us throughout the year.
And to our Signature Sponsors for 2021, 2022 and again for 2023!
It was good to see a strong delegation from our chosen charity, ANZA, for this Eclectic Series with a big welcome to Robbie Crozier, Phil Darwent, Alex Meyer, Angela Bowes, Briony Clemenson, Jacqui Campbell and Viv Rigney.
Your donations to our chosen charities each series has steadily grown over the years as you can see below:
Here are the charities we have supported throughout 2022.
...and our totals to-date.
Thank you all.
For this Eclectic Series our chosen charity was the ANZA Student Sponsorship Program where you donated IDR6,300.000. The presentation of the Big Dog Cheque was made on Friday this week by John and Sarah Brown.
These great results are only achieved through your continuing support each week as you can see in this year's summary of rounds played.
Now, back to the day in hand: this was the final round of this Eclectic Series with the Big Dog looking for a new home. Unfortunately, the weather meant the Little Dog stayed at home but we must congratulate Claudio Ghelli for becoming the Eclectic Champion and take the Bog Dog and the coveted Blue Jacket. Here is our new Champion with all the Blue Jacket winners from the past in our usual parade.
The other winners were:
So, a big congratulations to all our winners .Check out the full standings on our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app.
We also crowned our President's Challenge matchplay winner for 2022. Congratulations to Michael Mueller who only goes to show that even a septuagenarian can show us all a thing or two.
....and our Interleague Team Most Valuable Player, David Moore, who didn't lose a match in what was a difficult year for the D.O.G.S. team.
We also crowned our Top Dog for 2022 through the Fritz Hainzl Memorial Trophy where points are awarded for support and performance throughout the year. A big congratulations to David Moore for winning the 2022 Top Dog award.
Here are some photos of some of the groups just to lead you into checking out all our photos and videos taken throughout the day and evening. There are well over 300 photos which can be found by following the link EoYP Photos. and here.
We also have a great video which really shows how the day went with some great shots. Check this out through the EoYP Video.
We even had a drone flying around during the day.
