Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
So we returned to Modern Golf & Country Club for our second Eclectic Series of the year - a course we hadn't been to for a couple of years. 43 players made the trip out to Tangerang for what proved to be a cool, breezy and dry afternoon - apart from a little drizzle for the final couple of holes.
The course was very busy in the morning which led to no lockers being available for the men, but the club seemed to manage that well with all remedied well in time for the finish. We had a semi shotgun at 12:30pm as scheduled and, although play was a bit slow, everyone did manage to finish before dark. Just the usual reminder about keeping up the pace please.
Some new faces this week: Welcome to Isara Pootrakul and Somkiat joining our other Thai players.
So to the play:
A good spread of prize winners this week with Willie Noronha and Jude Alexander taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes and John Gustke and Chris Anderson the Longest Drive prizes. Axel Hertzke and Jeremy Oberoi had accurate approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch honours. Steve Sutton seems to be returning to form mastering the true, and in very good condition, greens becoming this week's Putting Champion.
For once Christian Berkenhoff did not take home the Most Exercise but had to settle for the Booby Prize. Dewi Wardoyo was the lucky person to go home with the Most Exercise Trophy.
Holger Molendyk had a good round shooting the Lowest Gross. It came to a count back to separate the top two players this week with John Gustke having to settle for the Runner Up prize, leaving Kevin "Yo Dogs" Dobson, back from his holidays down under, to show that a rest from golf can reap rewards taking the Little Dog as our Weekly Champion.
I suspect the cat was looking for a beer or something!

Nothing much to report on the state of the race for the Big Dog with this only being the first week - however you can see the full results after the first round results on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.
From their humble beginnings, as A4 paper stapled to chopsticks, our flags have evolved significantly over the years to their current design which hold up well in the worst of weather. They do have one small shortcoming, they must be zipped closed to keep the rain out. Please make sure to close the zipper completely after proudly writing your name on the card inside.
Next week is our second round, so grab a friend and please sign up early to avoid disappointment and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
