Hail the D.O.G.S.!
Numbers were a bit down, probably due to the long weekend, but 32 players turned up to enjoy a hot sunny day on an empty course. The first flight was away at 11:00 and everyone was in the bar by 5 o'clock.
Out of 6 flags only 1 was brought in so it was question and answer time again.
There was a huge cheer from the sixteenth tee box and we all thought a DOG had got a hole in one. Unfortunately it was a hole in one but not from a DOGS flight.
Michael Hui put in another 'last' time appearance he has had more comebacks and farewell appearances than Status Quo. He did have a good day with 41 points and his handicap was cut accordingly. He will get to enjoy on his next farewell appearance.
Jeff Colbert remains in the lead but Paul Kirkaldy has made a charge and is poised to take advantage of any mistake Jeff makes. Jeff still has a par to get, will he make it or succumb to the pressure? Everyone else is starting to slip back but many in the top 10 still have pars to get. How many birdies can Jeff get anyway? He’s likely to slow down.
