Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
With the Big Dog at the venue 30 players turned up early and patiently waited for the start while plotting a winning strategy. The Dogs were released a half hour early and the warm sunshine awaited them on the tee box. Pace was quick and despite a late round rainfall everyone was able to complete their round, have a shower and enjoy some beverages, while the results were being tallied, long before dark.
Once again the Weekly Champion was determined on count back with two players netting 40 Stableford points; Simon Oxley edged out Craig Edwards for the Little Dog. Simon also took the Lowest Gross with a 77!
He didn't win any prizes but it's worth mentioning that Nabil Wareeth had a very good round earning this week's biggest handicap slash with a 1.2 point reduction from his 39 Stableford points.
During this tournament the lead changed after each round and this round was no different; once the new handicaps were adjusted from last week's play Amol Singhal left the club house with the lead. Unfortunately despite his valiant effort, which included an eagle on 17, he was not able to hang on and he settled for 2nd Runner Up. Keith Gorman's steady play allowed him to win the 1st Runner Up trophy.
The Lowest Gross competition was over pretty early this tournament and Mark Johnson was quite happy to go through the formalities of collecting what has become his trademark trophy.
Our Eclectic Champion was never in the lead position but he was always lurking in the background steadily moving up the leaderboard and waited until week 6 to make his move. For the second time this year the Big Dog was awarded to David Prosser who shot a 79 in the final round. Congratulations Dave!
Full results are posted on our Leaderboard.
