Another early start saw 35 eager golfers head out well before the scheduled 12.04 tee off time. Rain threatened but never eventuated so all were back in the clubhouse for cold refreshments by 4pm.
Welcome to newcomers Otone Prayiano, Pandit Dres and Rene Jamsen who all played their first game with us, hope you all enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing you on the course again next weekend.
This weeks Booby Prize went to Otone with 24 points whilst Most Exercise was Detlef Blümke with 122 off the stick, keep at it guys.
Just a week after saying he would never play Matoa again Jens Roestel, as the saying about every dog goes, had his day, winning Nearest to the Pin, Drive & Pitch, Putting Champ (24), Lowest Gross (76) and the Weekly Champion with a magnificent 45 points! Well done Jens. Your handicap has been cut significantly and I think we can safely assume you will return to Matoa in the future.
Rauf Chaudry was runner up with an impressive 43 points and a tie with Laurie O’Connor for a Nearest to the Pin.
The other skills awards went to Tim Knight, Andrew Mackin and Rudi Basson well done guys.
Coming into the final round at Matoa Pieter Nielen-Groen has a slender lead over Jochen Overberg. The the top 4 golfers heading into round 6, Pieter, Jochen, Douglas McQuater and Craig Edwards will be grouped together for round 6.

Next week is our final formal round of 2018 and we will be having a party at the course following the golf. We have arranged for the course to provide buffet dinner for only 200K per person. Drinks will be provided via support of our generous Sponsors PT Schenck Process and The Rio Club, thank you to Mick Dodsworth and John Brown. Rá Simatupang and Robert Walters have also graciously donated some giveaways for the event, thank you to Rendra Lembong and Eric Mary!
It's been awhile since we have handed these out; during our event Saturday first time Champion's from the past 3 years will be receiving their Blue Jackets! All past Champion's should be proudly wearing theirs.

Golfers are asked to be at the course by 10:30 to allow for us to arrange groups and take advantage of an early start should the course allow.

Guests are most definitely welcome at the party following golf but please let us know if you are bringing someone.
