Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
So, we started our new Eclectic Series at one of the most stunning golf clubs in the Jakarta area, Bogor Raya. With the promise of good weather and a course usually in great condition, a fantastic turnout of some 62 players made the journey and they were not disappointed.
The club was really pleased to see us back, almost exactly one year since the last time, with everyone being given a beer & snack voucher and 50 balls on the driving range - what a great deal!
Some new faces this week - so a big welcome to Mike Regal - new to Jakarta and recommended to join us by Dave Keddington - thanks Dave - Rick Zanker, George Baptiste - haven't seen him for a while - and Jim Korbilas and Carol Lindsay - again, it's been a while.
We got off just about on time with a semi shotgun and the pace of play was steady, particularly given the numbers, so all were finished in good time to enjoy the evening sunset in the Tondano Restaurant - a nice and relaxing venue.
So, to the play: Well, the ladies dominated the skills prizes - well at least Rey Moore who won one of the Nearest to the Pin and both Longest Drive prizes - one to watch guys! The other Nearest to the Pin honours went to Sri Sollfrank back from her travels to Germany. The guys did salvage something with Ezra Alexander and Alessandro Perciante winning the Drive & Pitch Prizes. Mr Asian Tigers himself, Bill Lloyd had his flat stick working becoming this week's Putting Champion.
Alberto Gonzales had an unusual round for him taking the Booby Prize and first timer Viora Andari of Bull & Vine fame survived the round taking the Most Exercise Trophy.
Bobby Cangkrama decided his handicap was too high so he shot a great low score to take the Low Gross prize. He wasn't the only one who has a good round with 28 players shooting handicap or better it was no surprise that the top winners were going to have high points totals. Arnold Castillon must have thought he would be going home with the Little Dog but no, George Baptiste had just about the best round of his life becoming this week's Champion and taking the Little Dog.

The charity we are supporting for this tournament is Pondok Al Wafa. This incredible orphanage takes in abandoned children from all over Indonesia, providing them with a loving home and quality education. Let's come together to support this wonderful cause and make a difference in these children's lives!
Next week our round falls on Independence Day; show your pride by sporting Merah Putih.
We are limited to 64 players by the course and spaces are already almost gone for Round 2 so please sign up as soon as possible so you don't miss out. If you have a group you would like to play with let Rod know your preferred playing partners and make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
