Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
So, we headed into our penultimate round at the Jakarta Golf Club with our friends from Pocksia which resulted in a great turnout of some 53 players. The day also brought a special guest to join us; with Fazel Naghshineh visiting Jakarta and the D.O.G.S. Fazel is the director of Britesoft, the company which developed the myGolf2u app that us and other golf societies use in Jakarta. Just a heads-up: there will be a new look version of the app coming out in the next 4 weeks or so - much better feel and look - more on that nearer the time.
We also saw some new faces and other visiting guests this week: so, a big welcome to Pete Smith, Shaun Dickson, Paul Duttlinger and Mike Lewis - good to see you guys and you are always most welcome. Obviously, there were many faces from Pocksia we wouldn't normally see - but why not, I ask?
As there was a big club tournament in the morning, we were warned our shotgun start may be a little delayed, however, the 135 morning players finished quicker than expected so we underway on time - this week from the back nine just to mix it up. Pace of play was very good, and everyone finished in very good time with good weather all afternoon.
So, to the play: The ubiquitous Richard Mau seems to like this course taking Nearest to the Pin, Drive & Pitch and the Lowest Gross prizes this week - and he leads the Eclectic at the moment! The other Nearest to the Pin and Drive & Pitch prizes went to Joe Callahan and Jacob Smith. Mike Corsini and Hitoshi Maruyama kept their drives in the narrow fairway to take the Longest Drive prizes.
Nic "the outrageous Frenchman" Verdenal had his flat stick working well winning this week's Putting Champion prize. After a tough week last week Dean Merrilees had a much better outing this week winning the Runner Up prize with Arthur Ebako becoming this week's Champion and taking his first Little Dog home - let's see more of you Arthur please!
Nic was not afraid to risk breaking his wrist to keep his score down. His safely executed shot saved him a penalty stroke.

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!
With only one round left in this Eclectic Series, it's still pretty tight at the top with only 1.6 points separating the top 5 and Richard Mau can only get improvements with birdies. All in the chasing pack have the opportunity to try and convert bogies into pars or better to improve. Can anyone catch Richard and deny him his second green jacket or will someone win their first - or in the case of Jude, their second also. The best way to find out is to be there and witness the fight! You can check out the full standings so far here.
So, now to our final week at JGC with all the Dogs out to play for as well as the much-coveted Blue Jacket. Please sign up as soon as possible and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!

Rules Information
There is a stake interfering with your next shot and you would like to get relief from it. Can you just pull it out of the ground and lay it aside or are you allowed a free drop?
The answer is "it depends". What colour is it? Is it actually moveable or is it a post set in concrete? Check this article to help you figure out your options.
