D.O.G.S. Penultimate Round at Permata Sentul

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

A very rain affected day with 19 cards handed in but only 6 players managing to complete all 18 Holes. Everyone else was able to finish at least 9 holes so this week’s championship was based on just 9 holes.  For players completing 18 only the first nine holes were counted for the daily competition.  All holes completed were entered into the Eclectic.  This meant that there was much “Aprés Golf” with live music and dance – no names mentioned here as to who were the dancers and singers – but the D.O.G.S. did manage to drink the club dry of Bintang – good job they had Heineken.  A few also had the pleasure of enjoying Arne Tjaden's Japanese Single Malt Whisky.  Thanks for sharing Arne!

The club was very appreciative of the situation and many people were given rain checks for next week – thanks Permata Sentul!

A collection was taken for the Star Deli/Yayasan HOGS in readiness for their tournament on November, 11th, raising Rp,1.1 million.  Thanks to everyone who contributed to this very worthy cause!  This along with all fees and fines from next week's game will be donated to help with the children's charities as has been a long tradition for D.O.G.S.

On to the play; Laurie O’Connor and Jari Rathu managed the Nearest the Pin on holes 8 and 15 with Tom Grace (good to see back) and Stefan Skibinski taking the Longest Drive on holes 5 and 16.  Michael Mueller and Andreas Janssen took away the Drive & Pitch prizes for holes 4 and 12.  No putting champion this week due to the truncated tourney but Jochen Overberg was honoured to take the Bobby and most exercise on the nine holes.

Mark "Dirty" Johnson was runner up with 19 points to this week's winner of the Little Dog Keith Gorman with 20 points over the nine holes.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners!

Nearest the Pin Hole 4:  Laurie O’Connor

Nearest the Pin Hole 15:  Jari Rathu

Drive & Pitch Hole 12:  Andreas Janssen

Bobby Prize and Most Exercise:  Jochen Overberg

Coming down to the final week Laurie O'Connor has opened up a wide lead and couldn't be blamed for already measuring up a place on his mantle for the Big Dog.  With Rasmus Kilde scheduled to be away Dirty and Dougy McQuater are the closest to Laurie and will do their best to run him down.  Keep focused Laurie.

In the Lowest Gross competition Dougy holds the lead and will be doing a rain dance next week to try and keep Dirty from finishing the 18 and possibly stealing away the trophy.
