Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
51 players turned up for our penultimate round at Riverside Golf Club and we were again blessed with good golfing weather. As per the norm at this venue, players were teeing off right on time and were able to move around unimpeded while enjoying the cool weather. Upon completion of play everyone enjoyed some camaraderie with their fellow D.O.G.S. while committee members Doug McQuater and Rod Williams checked the scorecards and compiled results before turning things over to MC Kevin Dobson for the awards. Thanks for the efforts guys!
Stuck in Austria, Werner Muchitsch couldn't make our round but shared a photo with us to show he's doing ok.
Welcome back to Steve Sutton , Kamel Lakhdari and Budi Kusniadi who played their first round of 2021 with us. Thanks to Budi for bringing along mates Fahmi, Aming and Jerry.
The bridge photo challenge continues to be a fun distraction during the round. We received some unique entries this week including a new bridge. Well done everyone!
Having been shut out last week, Sarah Brown came back to take both Longest Drives laying down the challenge to the men for next week.
Many players were complaining of not playing well this week but none took it as well as Vinay Mathur, who after a vast tour of the course, was excited to receive the Most Exercise award. Kamel Lakhdari was clearly practicing before rejoining with his 38 points enough to gain him Runner Up.
For the second time this tournament we congratulate Roger Finnie as our Weekly Champion.
Congratulations to this week's winners!
Full Lowest Gross and Eclectic standings can be viewed on our Leaderboard page.
Going into our final round Dave Prosser continues to hold a tenuous lead over Remon Moerman and 1 improvement from Roger Finnie or Gaurav Shirke could see them leapfrog to the front of the pack. A difference of 3.7 points between 1st and 10th means the Eclectic is still wide open.
Previous Champions, don't forget to wear your Blue Jackets.

The Rules and what it means when we play.
Situation 1 – The Forgetful Friend
You’re playing a round with your golf buddies and have just finished playing a hole. Whilst moving to the next one, you realise that you left your putter at the previous hole. Of course, you return back to the hole to get your putter, but will your forgetfulness earn you a penalty?
Unfortunately, you’ve fallen victim to Undue Delay and will be subject to loss of hole in match play or two strokes in stroke play.
Situation 2 – Anger Management
Whilst playing the course, you are nearly struck by a ball played by a player in the group behind you. In anger, you hit the ball back towards the group. Has your moment of madness resulted in a penalty?
Yes. Unfortunately, you should incur the general penalty of loss of hole in match play or two strokes in stroke play.
Angry at your penalty, you break your putter. In a bid to recover from your disadvantage, you buy a new one in the Pro Shop after the first nine holes and use it for the rest of the round. However, as long as you started the round with 13 clubs, you are entitled to add another club and so will escape further penalties.
If you have any questions about rules please drop us a note to jakartadogs@gmail.com and our Rules Guys, Rudie Basson and Jens Roestel will answer on our website.
Our Rules Guys received 2 questions this week. Check out the responses.
