D.O.G.S. Second Round at Imperial Klub Golf

Writer: Djakarta Old Golf SocietyDjakarta Old Golf Society

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So we came to the second round in this Eclectic Series where TeeSet joined us for a Sunday round. The morning was absolutely beautiful as can be seen in the photo taken at around 10am - but things were unfortunately to change!

A total of 52 players from both societies turned out with some newcomers and a few faces we haven't seen for a while: Welcome to Anirudh Jain and Steve Cox and welcome back to Shivansh and Shashvat Pandey, Slok Rajeev, Sam Westen, Ronald Lim, Arnold Castillon, Sanjeev Bansal, Robbie Crozier and Albert Davidson. Hope to see you all again before too long!

So, as you see from the photo the morning was bathed in sunshine and we were hopeful it would stay that way. However, just as we started on time with the usual shotgun the rain came and gave us all a good soaking. It lasted just long enough to make sure the course and ourselves were well and truly wet! The weather did improve and managed to almost dry us out by the end of the round! When will the dry season start, we wonder?

So, to the play: Albert Smith - his back seems a lot better - and Richard Mau - home course advantage - managed to show off their accuracy by taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes with Ronald Lim and Sam Westen doing the same with their approach shots taking the Drive & Pitch honours. Robbie Crozier and Shivansh Pandey - congrats on graduating high school - took the Longest Drive prizes.

A count back was needed to determine that Chris Anderson would be this week's Putting Champion. Marc Desilets took the Booby Prize honour whilst Dewi Wardoyo won her second-in-a-row Most Exercise Trophy but with a significantly improved score from last week - keep it going Dewi, at this rate you'll be winning the Little Dog next!

Sam Westen showed that the damp conditions didn't distract from his golf taking the Lowest Gross with an impressive 3 over par round. Richard Mau had to settle for the Runner Up prize for the second week in a row leaving the way clear for Daniel Park to win his first Little Dog and be this week's Champion.

Carter Cross had missed out on receiving one of his Drive & Pitch prizes from Rancamaya, so we took the opportunity to set that right.

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!

So, with only 2 rounds complete, Richard Mau is starting to pull away from the chasing pack in the race for the Blue Jacket with a 4.4 lead over the second place contender. He only has one bogey to get rid of then he will need more birdies to improve. It's going to be tough to hold on to that lead Richard!

Full results can be seen on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.

Not sure what Bill Lloyd had done to deserve this!
