Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
What a great way to celebrate Indonesia's 79th birthday "Selamat Merdeka" with our second round at Bogor Raya. Another perfect day for golf with another big turnout of some 66 players. Many entered into the spirit of the day by wearing the Merah Putih colours - thanks to everyone!
Some newcomers and old faces we haven't seen for a while...so a big welcome to Harvey Hayman and Quenten Smith and welcome back to James Southward, Joe Phua and Kevin "Yo Dogs" Dobson back from his travels.
So, with such a big field we needed to get off on time with our usual shotgun and the head starter, Pak Esmit, obliged. Pace of play was steady but all finished in daylight so we could enjoy the evening in the Tondano restaurant and the good food they serve. Just a gentle reminder to all - please try and make sure you get to the course in good time so we can start on time - or even a little earlier if the course is not so busy.
To the play: a good spread of winners this week which is always good to see. Mike Corsini and Sarah Brown hit a couple of good tee shots to take the Nearest to the Pin prizes - oh and Mike manages to get an Eagle 3 on the Par 5 8th hole - well done! Anirudh and Hitoshi outdrove everyone else to share in the Longest Drive prizes while Jay Park and Richard Mau managed to hit accurate approach shots on the Drive & Pitch holes to take those prizes.
Bill Lloyd went one better than last week to retain the Putting Champion prize. Jens Roestel rather uncharacteristically took the Booby Prize this week and Siti Fatimah, who's been playing some steady golf these days seemed to have had an off day taking the Most Exercise Trophy home.
For the second week running Bobby Cangkrama held on to the Lowest Gross prize even though he shot 2 more than last week. It took a count back to decide the top prizes with Steve Lowry taking the Runner up slot and Andy Cross taking the first Little Dog for the Cross family back home.

So, with 2 rounds complete Bobby Cangkrama has slightly increased his lead at the top of the Eclectic but with the way he's playing he is going to see a drop in his handicap - so he's definitely catchable. We still have 4 rounds to go!. You can see the full Eclectic Leaderboard so far here.
We are limited to 64 players by the course and spaces are already almost gone for Round 3 so please sign up as soon as possible so you don't miss out. If you do find that registration is full, please message either Rod or John so we can put you on the waiting list. If, for any reason, you have to cancel, please deregister as soon as possible and let us know - Thanks.

The charity we are supporting for this tournament is Pondok Al Wafa. This incredible orphanage takes in abandoned children from all over Indonesia, providing them with a loving home and quality education. More information can be found on our Charity Page.
