D.O.G.S. Third Round at Gunung Geulis Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

A beautiful morning saw 38 players come out to enjoy this fabulous course. After a quick shuffling of the starting holes at the request of the starters, the D.O.G.S. got a semi-shotgun start and were off on time. Although some groups were held up on their front 9 we are happy to report it was not other D.O.G.S. groups causing this. Well done to all for your quick pace.

Unfortunately, as happens in the mountains, we once again received a late afternoon storm that resulted in play being halted with most groups having 3 or 4 holes to play. Some tried to wait it out but it was not meant to be that we would finish.

We had some newcomers this week and the D.O.G.S extend a warm welcome to Christine Bergmann and Tarmo Oja.  We also saw a few players we havn't seen in awhile; welcome back to Douglas Ure, Tapio Jarvenpaa and Jari Antikainen. Don't be strangers.

With the storm keeping all from finishing only skill prizes and putting champion were handed out. Jens Roestel and Parman Frans threw some darts at the greens to take the Nearest to Pin Prizes. Paul Russel and Chris "Ando the Comando" Anderson hit some big shots to win Longest Drive. Arne Tjaden and John Brown, demonstrated excellent concentration, each put 2 good shots together to win Drive & Pitch honours. Akhil Aggarawal continues to shine at this course winning the Putting Champion.

After 3 rounds Akhil is maintaining his lead in the Eclectic over the pack but as we move into week 4 we should see some players beginning to make their moves.

A reminder to all, while you will see a starting time next to your group in myGolf2u this does not mean that it is your actual time. We always see changes on the day and react accordingly. Do not use the time in the app as your target starting time, go with what is in our blog or on the Schedule page of the website and come early in the event we are able to start early. Next week is a good example, due to a morning tournament we are starting later than normal, however, if the course allows we will leave early. Players turning up for the tee time in the app may find an empty clubhouse.

Please sign up early as usual and if you have a group you would like to play with let Rod know your preferred playing partners and make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners! As mentioned above we have a bit later start than normal but the course will allow a semi-shotgun start to help speed things along.
