Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
The D.O.G.S. paid a visit to Panti Asuhan Kristen Karena Doa orphanage this past Tuesday. More on this below.
Prior to teeing off Sarah led the early arriving players in a good luck soju toast. This proved to be a good omen as the rains that had plagued us during the first 2 rounds and were threatening for the 3rd never appeared.
The course had 138 players booked for the afternoon and thanks to their organization skills the D.O.G.S. never noticed. Play was underway right on time. A no show caused some last minute flight shuffling which sent Arne & Rosie Tjaden to the front as a 2 ball. This was the last we saw of them until the end of the day. They moved swiftly and the rest of the pack did their best to try and keep up. All but one group finished around the 4 hour mark. The final group was only slightly behind due to the vast amounts of the wagers from the intense Wolf game that had them fretting over their shots and moving just a bit slower than the rest. Nonetheless all were in the clubhouse enjoying the view from the Sunset Bar long before dark.
Welcome to Ken Ratcliffe who played his first round with us. We look forward to seeing you back soon.
John Gustke, Sarah Brown, John Brown and Agnes Berkenhoff enjoy some well earned birdie juice following 3 birdies and a par on the 14th hole.
Nearest to Pin prizes were shared by the two Andrew's; Mr. Goode and Mr. Cross. Mike Corsini and Indar Dhaliwal took the Longest Drives. John Gustke and Richard Mau were accurate with their second shots taking the Drive & Pitch awards.
Rosie's 27 putts were just the right number to snatch the Putting Champion award. Asher Hewitt had an off day collecting only 23 points to take home the cricket bat. New guy Ken made sure to check out all points of the course in preparation for the coming rounds while winning Most Exercise. Sam Westen had an off day shooting a miserable 76 to take Low Gross. Diarmuid Flanagan was in the clubhouse celebrating with his 41 points only to find out he would have to settle for Runner up to Weekly Champion Indar who had 42.
A big congratulations to all our winners this week!
After 3 weeks of play Richard Mau remains at the top of the leaderboard but the gap is closing. Check out the full results on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.
During the week leading up to Round 3 John & Sarah Brown, Rod & Dewi Williams and Minn Tun visited Panti Asuhan Kristen Karena Doa orphanage to deliver very much needed 30,000,000 IDR to cover school placement fees. Don Duttlinger was unable to join but he sent along lunch for the 40 children at the orphanage. The kids enjoyed our visit and gave us a tour of the facility. It's always nice to see what the D.O.G.S. donations go to and how much of an impact it makes. We will announce our next facility visit after the Imperial tournament and recommend those that are able, to join.
The funds were raised during the D.O.G.S. & TeeSet Weekend at Rancamaya; thank you to all.
Week 4 is where we normally see a lot of movement in the Eclectic table. The pressure mounts each week to close out the bogeys as chances dwindle. Grab a friend and please sign up early to avoid disappointment. Don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners!
