Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

The D.O.G.S. arrived early, eager to kick off the final Eclectic Tournament of the 2025 season. As players relaxed in the club's ballroom before tee-off, the excitement was palpable. The Starter got the groups going right on time. With no groups ahead and a shotgun start, the play began smoothly, allowing the group to navigate the course at a steady pace. There was only one minor setback: rain, which started about an hour before tee-off and continued into the second nine, creating cool but soggy conditions. However, there were no delays, and everyone enjoyed the round, finishing well before darkness fell on the course.

Welcome to Tim Colceri, Connor Byrne and Thomas Glaser who all played their first round with us. Welcome back to Frank and Anna Wilson who we haven't seen in quite awhile. We hope to see you all back soon.

Nearest to Pin prizes went to Arthur Kissin and new guy Tim C (google him). Rey Moore wanted to let the men know she was playing and took a Longest Drive while Axel Hertzke got the other one. Drive & Pitch prizes went to Dean Merrilees and Tim Knight.

It's been awhile since we've seen Herlyn Franciska who uncharacteristically got the Booby Prize. Father and Son duo Riccardo and Simon Laneri were at both ends of the spectrum with Simon winning Most Exercise and Riccardo taking Runner Up. Arthur K displayed his golfing prowess as our Lowest Gross winner.

The putting conditions were very good and a lot easier that what we've been experiencing during the last tournament and there were many players sub-30 but in the end Richard Mau emerged as the Putting Champion.

Last time he played with us he won Most Exercise, but he's honed his skills since then, as Peter Cue went home the Weekly Champion.

The first week is complete now begins the chase for improvements. Full results are available on the leaderboard.

Pocksia will be joining us for our 4th round on Sunday, November 30th for our annual match. Captain Dougy is looking for players please let Doug or John know if you would like to represent the D.O.G.S.

Manila Dogs 25th Anniversary

Our founder, Fritz Hainzl, was originally a member of the Manila Dogs. When he moved to Jakarta, he saw an opportunity and created a similar organization—what we now know as the Djakarta Old Golf Society or D.O.G.S.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Manila Dogs will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila.

John and Sarah are planning to travel and join them for this special occasion.
