Second Round at Klub Golf Bogor Raya

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So, to the second round in this ever popular venue. The fantastic turnout of some 54 players were again greeted with just about perfect conditions.

Quite a few guests and some we haven't seen for a while - so a big welcome to George Baptiste's friends Ronaldo Sakrai, Clement Alis, Alain Durand and welcome to Ariq Zufar and Sean Linkletter. Those we haven't seen for a while: Chris Burley, on a visit down from Hong Kong, Andrew Mackin, James Taylor, James Southward, Abi Singh. It was also good to see Srinivas Murthy from our signature sponsor Via.com.

As we started a few minutes later than last week, it gave us time to enjoy some pre-round refreshments from both the club and our friends from San Miguel.

So, off we went from the front nine semi shotgun as usual with the pace of play being steady. The weather was very kind to us again so all finished in good time ready to enjoy the festivities in the Tondano restaurant afterwards.

Jaakko and Akhil were the accurate ones off the tee today taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes as were Steve and Ash with their approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch honours. This week the Longest Drive prizes were split between Anirudh and Carter.

Richard Mau had the flat stick working well being this week's Putting Champion whereas Andy Cross rather uncharacteristically took the Booby prize with a fairly reasonable number of points. Newcomer Ariq Zufar didn't go away empty handed taking the Most Exercise trophy.

Anirudh took the low gross and Eric Mary had to settle for the Runner Up slot albeit on a count back. Now, Arnold Castillon won his last Little Dog on this course back on the 24th August 2024 and here he is again almost exactly a year on to win the Little Dog again....we look forward to 2026 Arnold.!!

Congratulations to all of this week's winners.

So, with 2 rounds complete it's still early to tell where the race for the Blue Jacket will end up with Jaakko, Anirudh and Axel occupying the top 3 slots at the moment - but there's a very long way to go. You can check out the full results on the leaderboard.

As we mentioned, we are planning a party for the final week at Bogor Raya to celebrate our 20th Year. We are looking for sponsors for this event. If you would like to more details please contact John Brown direct - thanks.

You are waiting to putt and another player is putting on your same line in front of you; are you allowed to stand directly behind them?

Before that player putts they stroll up to the cup and start tamping down the grass on their line. Is this allowable?

Manila Dogs 25th Anniversary

Our founder, Fritz Hainzl, was originally a member of the Manila Dogs. When he moved to Jakarta, he saw an opportunity to create a similar organization—what we now know as the Djakarta Old Golf Society (D.O.G.S.)

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Manila Dogs will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila.

John and Rod are planning to travel and join them for this special occasion.
