Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Terrific weather once again greeted the D.O.G.S. as they made their way up the toll road. Play proceeded smoothly from holes 1 and 10. A light shower briefly appeared around the halfway point, but it didn't disrupt play. Both sides of the course were wide open, allowing players to move swiftly and reach the clubhouse in good time to enjoy the sunset.
Sepand brought along a couple of friends to join the fun; a big thank you to Matt Garvey and Steve Goddard for joining us! We look forward to seeing you back next week sporting your new D.O.G.S. shirts.

Mike Webb and Pat Chaundy engaged in a fiercely contested match play competition. Many cutting insults were exchanged, and the gamesmanship was top-notch. In the end, Pat emerged victorious, but it was Mike who had the last laugh, as he was the only one to collect a prize, taking Nearest to Pin.
Chris Barnett and Axel Hertzke shared the Longest Drives, while Alberto claimed a Drive & Pitch.
The greens posed a particular challenge for Round 3, but Capt. Dougy managed them better than anyone else, earning the title of Putting Champion. Tom Grace took full advantage of his red flag, allowing him to drive on the course and explore extensively, winning Most Exercise. Dave Zeiter, fresh from the Manila Dogs, had his low index tested this week; the courses must be a bit flatter in Manila, as Dave found himself holding the cricket bat at the end of the night, winning the Booby Prize. While Tom struggled during his round, his cart partner Cucu had no issues with the course, finishing as Runner Up.
The big star of the day secured four prizes; the first 3 being Nearest to Pin, Drive & Pitch and Lowest Gross with an 85. Congratulations to our Weekly Champion, Shinta Sari!
This week has brought significant shifts in the standings as players begin to master the course and enhance their performance. Jens Roestel now leads the pack. Explore the complete results on the leaderboard.

Rules Information
We get questions all the time about relief from a ball resting in footprint in the bunker, ball in divot, ball near a tree root, etc. With very few exceptions which are posted on on our website, the D.O.G.S. play to the USGA rules of golf. Here's a good article on absurd lies.

Manila Dogs 25th Anniversary
Our founder, Fritz Hainzl, was originally a member of the Manila Dogs. When he moved to Jakarta, he saw an opportunity to create a similar organization—what we now know as the Djakarta Old Golf Society (D.O.G.S.)
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Manila Dogs will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila.
John and Rod are planning to travel and join them for this special occasion.
If you’re interested in being part of the celebration, please let us know!
