Third Round at Pondok Cabe Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

We had another excellent turnout with a punctual start for the D.O.G.S. This course is truly well-organized. Once again, the pace of play was impressive, with players moving from hole to hole without delay. As has been the trend this year, a late storm rolled in, prompting players to seek shelter. However, most players resumed and completed their rounds after a brief delay, and everyone enjoyed the post-golf beverages while awaiting the results.

Welcome to Harmen Brune, who joined us while visiting his friend Richard Mau. Thank you for joining us, Harmen; we hope to see you again soon.

Harmen secured one of the long drives, with Steve Sutton taking the other. Harmen also claimed a Drive & Pitch. Dean Merrilees and Jens Roestel shared the Nearest to Pin honors.

Jens showcased his unique putting style to win the Putting Champion title. Returning for another round, Thomas Glasser took home the Cricket Bat. Kevin Dobson, a bit rusty after his trip to Oz, earned the Most Exercise award.

Tim Knight emerged as our Lowest Gross winner, while Jens secured a third prize as our Runner Up.

Just two weeks ago, Simon Laneri went home as our Most Exercise winner; he improved his game during that time and this week he celebrated as our Weekly Champion. Well done, Simon!

Congratulations to all the day's winners.

At the half way point Tim Knight sits at the top of the leaderboard. He's still got 3 bogey's on the board and will be looking to close those out next week. There a many players trying to chase him down who have far more improvements to get. This tournament is still wide open.

Pocksia will be joining us next week for our annual match. Please note that the game will be on Sunday, November 30th. Captain Dougy is looking for players; please let Doug or John know if you would like to represent the D.O.G.S.

Manila Dogs 25th Anniversary

Our founder, Fritz Hainzl, was originally a member of the Manila Dogs. When he moved to Jakarta, he saw an opportunity and created a similar organization—what we now know as the Djakarta Old Golf Society or D.O.G.S.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Manila Dogs will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary at Club Intramuros Golf Course in Manila.

John and Sarah are planning to travel and join them for this special occasion.
