Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!
A fantastic turnout of 67 players for our final round at this great course. We played a total of 305 rounds of golf over the six weeks with 124 different players - great support and a big Thank You to all of you.
We would also like to thank Bogor Raya for an excellent job hosting us. The organization was top rate.
Being the final round, all the Dogs came out to play with the final chase for the Big Dog well and truly on!
We also had several newcomers this week: Asher Hewitt, Cristofer Simanjuntak, Jimmy Kadir, Rizki Hamzah, Sahat Nainggolan, Seto Tanimo and Yance Arliansyah, and a few faces we haven't seen for a while: Dennis Muldowney, Jeremy Halma and Maria Kurniwati - a big welcome and welcome back to all!
The course was pretty busy in the morning, but we all got under way just after midday with our usual semi shotgun and, with just about perfect conditions for golf, everyone was finished in good time. As always, just a gentle reminder to be conscious of you pace of play please - thanks.
So, to the play: Maria Kurniawati and Richard Mau showed their accuracy with their tee shots taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes with Jens "Straight off the plane" Roestel and Steve Sutton also showing the accuracy of their approach shots winning the Drive & Pitch prizes. The Longest Drive prizes went to newcomer Cristofer Simanjuntak and Sam Westen.
Gaurav Shirke clearly got the measure of the greens becoming this week's Putting Champion. However, Sean Flanagan, with his new handicap, had to settle for this week's Booby Prize whilst Siti Fatimah went home with the Most Exercise Trophy.
Sam Westen had another great round taking the Lowest Gross Prize. Diarmuid Flanagan was clearly not put off by his son's antics winning the Runner Up prize this week. This left the way for Bobby Cangkrama who played the best round of his life to win the Little Dog and be crowned this week's Champion.
Before we get to the Eclectic results; we had some unfinished business to take care of - Akhil Aggarwal was presented with his Blue Jacket which he won at last year's Eclectic here at Bogor Raya.
So, now to the Eclectic results. It was a close race right to the end as we so often see but Eric Mary managed to hold off the chasing pack to win his second Blue Jacket - it took him 3 years though - and take the Big Dog home. Rosie Tjaden took the Mini Dog for Runner Up and Laurie O'Connor took the Mini Dog for third place.
Sam Westen won another Lowest Gross Average with what I believe is the lowest average over the six rounds ever - well played!
And, as usual, the Blue Jacket parade
A big congratulations to all of this week's winners.
You can, of course, see all the final standings on our Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app.
Our Charity collection for the ASTI Trust collected IDR5.922.000. A big thanks to all who donated.
So, now we move on to the next Eclectic Series where we return to another old favourite. A special characteristic of this 18-holes' Course is its rolling topography, it is divided into two parts, first-nine holes set on low-level areas, and back nine holes set on higher-level areas. The naturally rolling fairways and undulating greens will pose a challenging for golfers. So, please grab a friend or two, sign up and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners! Also note that signing up early helps a lot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.
