D.O.G.S. First Round at Imperial Klub Golf

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!

The sunsets at Imperial Klub Golf did not disappoint as we headed out to Karawaci for the first round in the second Eclectic Series of the year. A great turnout of 61 players; with a shotgun start on a busy course we got off on time and were all finished and back in the Sunset Bar to enjoy the Bali Hai Happy Hour beers - and the spectacular sunset. A few newcomers again this week: Irene Palatta, John Hawkins, Joe Phua, Jason Lee and the return of Charles Lim, who some of you may remember was a regular D.O.G.S. player back in the day. This time he was just passing through on his way back to Cambodia. Great to see you all and a very big welcome to the D.O.G.S.

The course was good and dry with all its ups and downs as usual and the greens were as challenging as ever but that didn't deter those who won the skills prizes with yours truly Rod and Claudio Ghelli showing their accuracy of their tee shots taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes. Prannot Agarwala and Reysia Moore showed how to drive true and straight and stay in the fairway taking the Longest Drive honours with Deepak Pande and Vijay Sarashetti hitting good approach shots taking the Drive & Pitch prizes.

Rod Williams with 12 one putts had his putter on fire taking this weeks Putting Champion prize. Sri Sollfrank claimed she had one of the worst rounds ever - which showed as she uncharacteristically took the Booby Prize home, with Sarmila Pande enjoying the scenery perhaps more than she would have liked having the Most Exercise.

Steve Sutton had to settle for Runner Up this week paving the way for Kevin "Yo DOGS" Dobson winning his first Little Dog in 5 years to be this week's Champion.

A big congratulations to all our winners!

Now, way too early to say much about the Ecelctic standings after only the first round, but Axel Hertzke tops the leaderboard. However, there's a long long way to go!

Please check out the full standings on our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app.

Our charity for the Imperial tournament will be Pondok Al Wafa, an orphanage that adopts abandoned children and educates them from throughout Indonesia.

Ibu Ida, the founder of Pondok Al Wafa, is a friend of John & Sarah Brown who support this charity privately.

Wednesday is the last day to sign up for the German Open cup. This is a tournament for a worthwhile charity that is supported by many of our German members. Since Jagorawi is not on the D.O.G.S. rotation, here is an opportunity for you to enjoy this beautiful course along with some fellow D.O.G.S. Don't forget to register. Details can be found here.

So next week will be our second round at Imperial and, as we always say, grab a friend and sign up now for next week and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please note that signing up early helps a lot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.

B - The stroke counts, the player gets two penalty strokes and the ball must be

played as it lies.

C - The stroke counts, the player gets two penalty strokes and the ball must be

replaced.

Correct answer B
