Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
Happy New Year to all the D.O.G.S. and great to see we are off and running for the 2022 season. 31 players turned out for our first round of the year at Modern Golf & Country Club with more sure to come in the following weeks as some of our regulars emerge from quarantine.
In what we hope will become a frequent feature, 2021 Top Dog TPS did a candid interview with our 2022 Interleague Captain Douglas McQuater prior to the round.
Let's see who TPS selects next week!
A big welcome back after a long absence to James Bristow and good to see Yarub Obaidalla back again after just over a year.
The weather was good, if not a bit breezy, but the club got us all off on time with a mini shotgun start. Play was steady and all were finished in good time.
Before the prize giving we had some old business to take care of. Douglas McQuater collected his 3rd Place trophy from Permata Sentul and Dave Keddington picked up his Lowest Gross trophy and Big Dog for his win at Riverside.
Willy Noronha had a good day taking 3 of the skill prizes; Longest Drive, Drive & Pitch and Putting Champion, with Tribhuvan Singh taking the other Longest Drive and one of the Nearest to the Pin, the other being taken by Vijay Sarashetti. Ezra Alexander took the other Drive & Pitch.
Reysia Moore had an uncharacteristically difficult day by taking the Booby prize but Nathan Keddington certainly got his money’s worth with a commanding 156 off the stick; it can only get better. Really!
Nana Sari Dewi became a first time Runner Up winner and the ever ubiquitous Roger Finnie took Lowest Gross and became our first Weekly Champion of the year.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
Too early to say much about the Eclectic at the moment but full Eclectic and Lowest Gross results can be found on our Leaderboard.
Our charity for this eclectic series is the ANZA Scholarship program with further details given below in Announcements. Thanks to Ruth Lajousky for introducing us to this worthy cause.
We will be running the President's Challenge matchplay competition again this year which will kick off soon after the conclusion of our 2021 season. Juju Juhaeriah is scheduled to play David Moore in the final on January 22nd. Kevin Dobson will announce more details shortly.
So grab a friend and sign up for next week’s round. Please let Rod know your group preferences as soon as possible. We are likely to have a shotgun start again so please be there in good time.

ANZA Student Sponsorship Program
For the Modern 2022 tournament we have chosen ANZA's Student Sponsorship Program to be the beneficiary of proceeds from our collection barrel.
The program was started in 1988 by Marilyn Ardipradja, initially with 22 students sponsored by 19 sponsors, and has grown over the past thirty years to help approximately 500 students per school year. The program provides financial assistance to enable disadvantaged Indonesian children to go to school, and is funded by sponsorship rather than ANZA’s own social welfare funds.
More information on the program can be found on our Charity page.
WhatsApp Group
We have 2 WhatsApp groups for members; our Chatter group which is used for sharing jokes and non-D.O.G.S. related information and our Updates group where we share information specific to D.O.G.S. rounds. If you would like to be added to either or both of these groups please send us an email with your cell phone number to jakartadogs@gmail.com
