Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
So, here we are at round 4 of the Rancamaya series and things are starting to take shape in the race for the Blue Jacket. Traditionally there's usually a fair bit of movement at this stage.
50 players made the trip to what proved to be a beautiful afternoon for golf. The course was dry and the greens a little better than last week - it seems they are slowly catching up on post Ramadan maintenance.
The usual new faces and long-time-no see additions this week with Luis Arandia being with us for the first time and Shaun Cunningham making it back from Singapore. Geary Bowles (A 2-time Blue Jacket winner from back in 2011) who left these shores a number of years ago to retire back to the US, was visiting on holiday. Great to see you see you after so long - you don't look a day older!
So, to the play: Geary Bowles showed he hadn't lost his touch winning both the Nearest to the Pin prizes. Dene Heath and Willie Noronha had their drivers working well taking the Longest Drive prizes whilst David Moore and Holger Molendyk had accurate approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch honours.
So the greens were a little better this week giving the opportunity for Hitoshi Maruyama to show the flat stick working well winning this week's Putting Champion honour.
Abijit Singh escaped before collecting both the Booby and Most Exercise Trophies - don't worry, Fritz will look after them for you!
With an ever growing number of low handicappers in our midst it's good to see the Lowest Gross prize switching around much more with Anirudh Katre being the recipient this week - it makes it more of a competition for the Lowest Gross Average running.
Indar Dhaliwal had a steady round taking this week's Runner Up prize leaving the way for President John Brown comfortably taking the top prize of the Little Dog being this week's Champion.
A little bit of unfinished business from our first round - Nanin Provance winning one of the Nearest to the Pin Prizes.
A big congratulations to all our winners this week!
So, with 4 rounds complete and JB's good showing in the 4th round, has put him at the top of the leaderboard and in contention for his 7th Blue Jacket! There's still 2 rounds left, and the margin is tight so there's still a lot to play for. Full results after the fourth round can be seen on the Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app as usual.
D.O.G.S. & Teeset Weekend:
Just to further remind everyone, we are getting closer to our annual big weekend on 4th/5th May at Rancamaya. Full details can be found here. Please take note as we need numbers for catering purposes as soon as possible and please let Rod know who your 4-person scramble team will be for the Sunday game. If you haven't got a team, don't worry, we'll sort that out for you.
