Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!
So we have reached the penultimate round of this Eclectic Series with 40 players turning out for what initially looked as if it could be a wet afternoon. However the rain was light and soon moved away leaving a pleasant afternoon for golf.
The usual shotgun got us off on time so everyone finished in good time. Some newcomers to welcome this week including Andrew Knibb, Stuart Miller, Robbie Crozier and Seth Snyder and a welcome back to Max and Sri Sollfrank - always good to see new faces and old ones back again.
So to the play: Sarah Brown had her swing working well today taking both the Longest Drive prizes. Terence Martin and Rod Williams (hey!!!) showed their accuracy taking the Nearest the Pin honours - please note: any suggestion that Rod's shot was a complete fluke as mentioned by MC Kevin is totally unfounded - he's only jealous because his tee shot completely missed the green!
Steve Sutton and Shlok Rajeev also showed their accuracy with their approach shots taking the Drive & Pitch prizes. Leon Bivolaru showed us how to putt becoming this week's Putting Champion. Michael Mueller should not feel too hard done by with a pretty respectable point tally to take the Booby Prize on a count back at that! Stuart Miller also had a pretty respectable score to take the Most Exercise prize as well.
Andrew Deane, however, showed us all how it's done taking the Lowest Gross prize. The Weekly Champion had to be decided on a count back this week with Reysia Moore just being pipped at the post by this week's Champion Terence Martin.
We also said a farewell - at least for a while - to Nick Maclean and we wish him all the best and hope to see him again before too long.
MC Kevin started his usual entertaining prizes presentation by showing off some of the new prizes - beer mugs, hip flasks etc. A lot of effort goes into the selection of these prizes to ensure we deliver good quality - a big thanks to JB and Sarah for all the work they do to ensure you are playing for quality and much coveted prizes.
Congratulations to all this week's winners!!
So with five rounds of the Eclectic Series now completed Gaurav Shirke continues to hold the lead - but he's all pars and birdies so it's going to be tough for him to improve going into the final round. Below him there's still plenty of scope to catch and overtake him as anything can happen in the last round. The full standings can be seen through the links on our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app as usual.
As next week is the final week at Imperial the Big Dog will be out to play. We ask all Blue Jacket holders to bring their jackets for the all important group photo with the new winner to be crowned next week.
As we always say; grab a friend, please sign up early and let Rod know your preferred playing partners as usual.
