D.O.G.S. Penultimate Round at Imperial Klub Golf

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!

So we came to our fifth and penultimate round at Imperial Klub Golf for 2023 with 51 players turning out for a hot afternoon of golf. Numbers were a bit reduced this week due to many of our regulars competing in the Thompson Cup clash between England and Scotland. We are happy to report the good guys - I'll let you ponder on who they are - won 5 - 2. Note that there seem to be less and less real English and Scottish players every year! Anyway, good to see newcomer Raymond Wen and a couple we haven't seen for a while, Nelli Boguslavakaya and Willi Goldschmidt - don't leave it so long please.

We got off to our usual shotgun start on time again and everyone was finished in good time to meet up back in the Sunset Bar - no wedding this week!

So to the golf: Chris Anderson came off his win last week to take a Nearest to the Pin and Drive & Pitch as well as an Eagle 3 at the par 5, 11th. Dan Swinburne and Jens Roestel took the other Nearest to the Pin and Drive & Pitch prizes respectively whilst the Longest Drives went to Rosie Tjaden and Indar Dhaliwal.

Richard Mau had his putter working well becoming this week's Putting Champion but Dewi Wardoyo saw parts of the golf course others don't see taking both the Booby and Most Exercise Trophies home - practice makes perfect Dewi!

Having taken a week off last week Andrew Goode came back strong taking this week's Runner Up prize leaving Hitoshi Matuyama to not only also have an Eagle 3 at the 11th hole, but also the Lowest Gross and the Little Dog - only his second - becoming this week's Champion.

Here's Chris Anderson's Teeshot which very nearly resulted in a Hole-in-One!

A big congratulations to all our winners this week!!

With only one more round, the top of the Eclectic Leaderboard has some movement in it. Indar still leads but he's away next week! There's only 2.7 between the top 5 so there's still time for a new leader to emerge. Please check out the full standings on our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app.

Congratulations to our Inter-league team who defeated Sandbaggers 6/4 on Sunday. Hitoshi Maruyama and David Moore won their singles. Robson Drumond & Jude Alexander won their pairs match. Our other pairs Minn Tun & Andrew Goode and Max Sollfrank & Velma Yolanda enjoyed the day.

We now head into the final round at Imperial, so, as we always say, grab a friend and sign up now and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please note that signing up early helps alot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.
