D.O.G.S. Second Round at Klub Golf Bogor Raya

Updated: Aug 22, 2022

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!!

A great turnout again for the second round in the series with 54 players. The weather looked good and we got off to an on-time start off holes 1 and 10 as last week.

Unfortunately, the pace was rather slow due to the course being busy and the weather turned against us late in the round. This meant many players were unable to finish their rounds.

As most people had completed at least 15 holes the Little Dog was awarded on Stableford points gained on 15 holes - there were a very few who had only completed 13 holes so they were given a net par, 2 points, on the uncompleted holes to make up the 15. This enabled everyone to be included in the day's top prizes. We would like to point out that all completed holes do still count towards your eclectic score. We always do our best to be a fair as possible in what occasionally are difficult circumstances - thank you all for your support.

Some newcomers, old faces and guests this week including Andrew and Octa Abram, Alberto Gonzales, Koichi san, Kapil Arora, Rahul Ahuja, Yash Sharma, Stephen Dunggai, John Mesiti, Rick Zanker and Craig Edwards. Always good to see new faces and old ones back after a while - forever welcome!

So to the play: Nearest to the Pin prizes were won by Akhil Aggarwal and Rick Zanker with Jude Alexander and Richard Mau flexing their drivers taking the Longest Drive honours and Steve Sutton and Don Duttlinger taking the Drive & Pitch trophies.

Due to the shortened game there are no winners, or losers for this week's Putting Champion, Booby, Most Exercise and Lowest Gross prizes.

However, based on the 15 hole Stableford the Ladies ruled the day with Octa Abram becoming this week's Runner Up and Reysia Moore taking the Little Dog home to add to the Moore family collection - come on David, she'll be winning the Big Dog next!

Congratulations to all our winners.

Coach and President JB thought we would all like to see how to hit a good drive - check out the video guys!

Christian, Aknes and Alberto were so impressed they could only leap for joy!!!

A little bit of unfinished business to attend to as well this week.

Holger Molendyk collected his Little Dog from way back on the 9th July at our second week at Imperial Klub Golf - congrats again!

So, with 2 weeks under our belts in this Eclectic Series, Richard Mau holds the lead but he's very close to needing only birdies to improve - so plenty of opportunity for the chasing pack. Please check out the full results through our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app as usual.

So now we head to the halfway stage looking forward to our third round so, as we always say; grab a friend, please sign up early as we are limited to 56 players and let Rod know your preferred playing partners as usual.

Announcements

Tupai Pandai

We are sorry to announce that Robert Spour, one of the founders of Tupai Pandai, was involved in a hit and run accident on his bicycle 2 Sundays ago. Robert suffered a femoral neck fracture in his right leg. He has been released from the hospital to recover at home. Tupai Pandai is the recipient of our collections from this tournament.

Scorecards

Bob Davies has reached out to us with a unique request. Bob is a 78 year old Scottish pensioner born in "Toonheed" Glasgow and now living in Australia with his wife Judy. For the last 10 years he has been collecting and documenting the history of golf being played around the world. Bob would like some scorecards from Indonesia.

Kevin Dobson will be travelling to Australia in October and has agreed to take the cards with him. Over the next few weeks we request players to please grab an extra scorecard for Bob and bring it to us at our D.O.G.S. rounds. The scorecards can be handed over to JB or anyone on the committee. If anyone is playing golf in Bali (or anywhere else) scorecards would be very much appreciated also.

Below is a magazine article about Bob and his collection.
