Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
Another big turnout for Matoa with 35 Dogs handing in scorecards. The course was well prepared as usual getting us off to an orderly start. We should have taken more notice of how tired the SMoGs looked coming off the course and loaded up on the water, it was one very hot day out on the links. By the time everyone finished there were a few wishing a bit of rain had fallen.
Axel Hertzke brought along his brothers to show them how the D.O.G.S. play; welcome to Jochen and Kai.
There was a bit of a buzz in the air as rumours of Werner Muchitsch being back and joining us were flying about. His name was on the board but he was nowhere to be seen. Some reported seeing him just before tee off but the only evidence we had was his name on a flag. During the prize giving ceremonies he was not to be found. A shame as Werner was a double winner taking a Nearest to Pin and the Booby Prize, with a very respectable 27. We are glad to have you back, stick around for a bier next time.
It seems that Jochen Overberg has been practicing; he turned up with his new sub-20 handicap and celebrated by winning a Longest Drive; if it weren't so hot some may have suspected a certain place had frozen over.
Pieter Nielen-Groen was this week's Deemples Lowest Net winner and Stuart Wigley managed to win the Lowest Gross with a 78 despite carding a 9. He also took the Putting Champion with 27 putts. That's some impressive golf Stuart!

Steve Sutton was our Weekly Champion with 42 points beating out Philippe Jamin who came in with 40.
