D.O.G.S. Penultimate Round at Matoa Nasional Golf Course

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

A quieter day at Matoa than the busy day last week saw the D.O.G.S. away at 11:30 and everybody back for the pre-party party by 4pm. That’s even with a little rainstorm, just enough to create a pressure cooker atmosphere for most of the day. The heat didn’t slow down the scoring though, with more than half the 23 cards handed in at 34 points or better.

Our welcome backs bookended the field On Saturday, with Brett Shields taking the Little Dog and Maurice Dres can feel a little miffed in picking up the Booby Prize with a not disrespectable 24 points. Many Thanks to Andrew Waite, who chipped in a bottle of whisky to celebrate St. Andrew's Day and “sweeten” the Little Dog Prize.

Welcome to Steven Xie and Achmad Kisut who joined us for the first time. Achmad’s 80 off the stick going into the countback with the other two 80's on the day from Simon Reynolds and Stuart Wigley. Stuart’s 35 on the back 9 pretty hard to beat though. It was Craig Edwards, our erstwhile photographer who won the Deemples Lowest Nett – hence the selfie!

Both Stuart and Matthias Coessens picked up 2 strokes on their eclectics, in the race for the Big Dog, but with 13 Players already having nett scores in the 60’s it should be a big weekend for our end of year/party day on Saturday 7th!!

Quite a few people are heading home for Christmas/New Year and some ending their stints in Jakarta. To those who are ending their time in Jakarta, we hope you enjoyed your adventures with the D.O.G.S., you are always welcome back. Don’t be strangers. To all safer travels and have a good break, look forward to hacking a few next year!

Just a little reminder, D.O.G.S. are a totally non profit organisation run by volunteers. Every rupiah that goes into the jar goes into the prize pool, except for our occasional charitable donations. JB and Sarah do a great job in stocking the prize pool, always trying to mix it up and keep it interesting. When the cards are coming in after the game it can sometimes be a little hectic, with groups coming in off both 9’s and chasing the prize flags. Everybody is getting diligent in handing their cards in before they hit the showers; that’s a big help for us to have the presentations asap. Please remember to catch up with your 100,000 Rp in the jar – it's pretty good VFM when you look at the returns.

Players are requested to be at the course 1 hour early in the event we are given an early start.

If you are delayed getting to the course please drop us a note on WhatsApp and we will make sure arrangements are made for when you arrive at the course. Similarly, please let us know if you decide not to play.

End of Year Party

Immediately following next week's round we will be having a party to celebrate the close of our 2019 campaign. This is a Blue Jacket affair so Champions are requested to wear them proudly!
