D.O.G.S. Third Round at Matoa Nasional Golf Course

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

21 players turned up to compete for the Little Dog and jockey for position in the Eclectic. Not bad numbers considering many Dogs were competing in the popular Thompson Cup Tournament on the same day. Heat, dry fairways which gave some extra yards to drives and fast greens were the order of the day. It was a tale of 2 nines as the players who started off 10 were able to sail around the course in around 4 hours. The players who started off 1 had a bit of a longer day. Thank you to those who waited in the clubhouse for us, it was very much appreciated!

Welcome to Jan Tans who played his first round with us.

Prizes were shared around with only 1 person a double winner. Tim Knight was back from his injury and easily carded an 81 to take the Lowest Gross prize, Simon Oxley had a decent round himself but had to settle for Runner Up. This week's Champion, who also won a Longest Drive, is Malcolm Collis with 42 points.

Unfortunately we have to say so long to Mike Taylor who's vacation is coming to an end and will be heading back to Texas. Thank you for sharing your vodka with us Mike and we hope to see you back very soon.

Players are requested to be at the course 1 hour early in the event we are given an early start.

If you are delayed getting to the course please drop us a note on WhatsApp and we will make sure arrangements are made for when you arrive at the course. Similarly, please let us know if you decide not to play.

Following our final round at Matoa on December 7 we will be having a party to celebrate the close of our 2019 campaign. Put it in your calendar now to make sure you you don't miss it.

We are looking for sponsors for this event and for next year. Please let us know if you know anyone who would be interested.

Deemples Handicaps

As you all are aware a Deemples score must be validated by 2 persons, other than the player, submitting a score for a round. We post a score for all players from the D.O.G.S. account. This leaves everyone else to chase that second score. Please get with your playing partners to help each other out. Perhaps enter the scores for each other as you complete your round so that you are all in agreement on the numbers. Scores will not count if everything does not match.
