D.O.G.S. Final Round at Imperial Klub Golf

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So, with this being the final round of this Eclectic Series all the Dogs were out to play and with the leaderboard being pretty tight at the top it was certainly all to play for. Heavy rains the night before, a downpour shortly before tee off meant "lift, clean & place" was in effect. This proved to be the right call as mud balls were the order of the day. However, the preceding rains led to a glorious day of golf for the 47 Dogs who came out to chase the Big Dog.

A few guests this week thanks to John Gustke and John Packer with Dave Ehrmann, Edward Zhu, Nick Choong, Steve Cox and the well-known Indonesian artist Mike Lewis all joining us, some for the first time and some we haven't seen for a while. Welcome everyone!

With another busy morning at the course we had a semi shot gun start on time - with no lack of caddie issues this time - and with just about perfect weather and good pace of play, everyone was finished in good time to enjoy our final week for this series at the Sunset Bar.

So, for the day's play: A reasonable spread of winners this week with John Packer and Terence Martin showing us their accuracy with their tee shots to take the Nearest to the Pin prizes as did Dougie McQuater and Jacob Smith with their approach shots for the Drive & Pitch prizes. Our very own President John Brown and Sari Smith managed to keep their drives in the fairway to the Longest Drive honours.

Dougie McQuater continued his good day with the flat stick winning the Putting Champion prize and managed the Runner Up prize, unfortunately on a count back from the winner! Albert Smith, back in Jakarta for a while, and Nick Choong celebrated their come back by winning the Booby and Most Exercise Trophies!

Hitoshi-san had the best gross round of the day taking the Low Gross prize but Eric Mary walked away with his second Little Dog on a row to remain the week's Champion.

An unlucky break for Leon Bivolaru who had to dig deep into his bag of tricks to escape from this unfortunate lie.

Nicely done.

So, now to the Eclectic Results: well we knew it was going to be tight given how few points separated the top ten. In the final round all the top 5 from last week made improvements of either one or two strokes so it was going to come down to the final calculation to determine the order.

In the end Axel Hertzke took the Big Dog home and also the Low Gross Average Trophy. The is Axel's second blue jacket - his first was way back in 2020 at Pondok Cabe. He now has the distinction of winning Blue Jackets off the blue and white tees! You can checkout the full results here.

So, a big congratulations to all our winners over the past 6 weeks where we had 93 different players and 240 rounds of golf!
