Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
So we move to our final eclectic series of 2021 as we started the year, at the ever popular but challenging Riverside. 45 players turned up for a mini shotgun start on holes 10 to 14 which saw everyone off at the scheduled time. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite kind enough with the threat of a storm suspending proceedings late in the afternoon. This meant a number of players were unable to finish their last 3 or 4 holes. Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us for future weeks.
Welcome to Mohib Ahmed for his first outing with us and welcome back after some time to Mike Webb, Ruth and Bill Lajousky, Sebastian Braun, Shawn Berg, and Ayu. Always good to see old faces back but don’t leave it so long next time. We also heard from Katsuaki Takahashi via WhatsApp during the round. He shared some photos from Japan which can be seen on our D.O.G.S. Tales page thanks for checking in with us Taka!
A strong ladies contingent showed itself with Rey Moore taking a Nearest the Pin and a Longest Drive prize and Sarah Brown taking the other Nearest the Pin. Shawn Berg took the other Longest Drive with Michael Mueller and Chee Hou Koh taking the Drive & Pitch. Sebastian Braun got good value from his day by taking both the Booby and Most Exercise prizes; keep it going Seb!
David Keddington had a good day shooting 83 off the stick to claim the Lowest Gross but it took a count back to separate our recent Big Dog winner David Moore and Velma Yolanda for the Little Dog this week with Velma taking the prize; the first Dog in their household, just to put the pressure on Toshi san!
So we’re off and running but too early to see how the run to the Big Dog will pan out. A long way to go, but check out the results on our Leaderboard.
Congratulations to all our winners!
With a few players not able to finish their rounds, can we remind you please to leave unplayed holes blank on both your score cards and the Mygolf2u app. Your completed holes will count towards your eclectic score but not to your handicap.
Please let us know who you would like in your group as early as you can during the week, and please make sure the other players are aware!. Come and join the fun and sign up early for next week for the next round. We are likely to have a mini shotgun again so please be there in good time so we can all get off together.

Question: When the player's ball is on the putting green, there is no penalty for the player's caddie marking and lifting the ball without his authorization.
Question: Temporary water includes puddles caused by rain on a putting green.
Question: A player plays their second shot, searches for their ball briefly and then announces they will go back and play a provisional ball. They drop and play a second ball from the position of the previous stroke. The player then continues searching for their original ball and finds it within three minutes of when they first started searching for it. What is the ruling?
The player must continue with the provisional ball.
The player may choose whether to continue with the original ball or the provisional ball.
The player must continue with the original ball
Answer: 3 Explanation: As long as the original ball was found within 3 minutes, always the original ball must be played. Who the person is, who found the ball has no influence on this rule.
A player is entitled to free relief from tractor marks in the general area when the grass is cut to fairway height.
If you have any questions about rules please drop us a note to firstname.lastname@example.org and our Rules Guy Jens Roestel will answer on our website.
David Prosser over Gaurav Shirke by forfeit.
Hitoshi Maruyama and Tim Knight had their match halted due to weather and will tee it up again next week.
Matches can be played anywhere at anytime as long as both players agree. Challengers are on the lower rung and should initiate the request to play. Check out the board to see who you are playing against.
If you need some help scheduling please ask anyone from the Committee and we'll be glad to assist.
