Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!
A good turnout of 26 players for our fourth round of the tournament and comfortable weather to play in. The course wasn't busy and was able to get us off to an early start from 3 holes. This had a few of the players who hit some traffic racing out to their tee boxes. Remember, please turn up early. Listed tee times in the app are only an estimate and do change on game day.
Welcome to Hasan Farooq Malik and Roberto Dimitri who played their first D.O.G.S. rounds. We hope you guys enjoyed the day.
The course was open in front of the D.O.G.S. and we were able to move quickly for most of the round only catching up to outside groups late in the round. It was noticed that a group was falling behind the pace a little bit and the marshals made a visit. Please be aware of the groups around you; if you don't see anyone in front of you and there are groups right behind you that could be a hint that you should pick up your pace a bit.
Play was completed in good time with players in the clubhouse regaling others with stories of their incredible feats during the day's competition long before darkness fell.
For the skill prizes Nearest to Pin was shared by Mo De Groot and John Brown, Steve Sutton and Arne Tjaden showed off their power taking the Longest Drives while Sean Flanagan and Eric Mary took the Drive & Pitch awards.
5 players had 31 putts but Rosie Tjaden managed to take the prize on count back, Paul Barnett collected his second cricket bat for Booby Prize and Sean Flanagan was the Most Exercise winner. John Brown was happy with his 40 points but it was only good enough for Runner Up.
The big story of the day was Rosie Tjaden shooting a 78 which won Lowest Gross and the 45 Stableford points she got were more than enough to see her crowned Weekly Champion for 2nd straight week.
We caught up on some old business presenting Bradley NamKoong his Little Dog for Week 1.
A big congratulations to all of this week's winners.
As is the norm following the fourth round things start to heat up in the Eclectic; players begin to see a path for them to fulfill their golfing ambitions by donning the Blue Jacket and raising the Big Dog in victory. Going into our penultimate round Rosie Tjaden is sitting at the top with a 1.1 point lead over Eric Mary. The rest of the pack is close behind and many players will be circling the holes they need on their scorecards trying to pick up improvements. Full standings can be seen on our Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app.
Grab a friend, or 2, and sign up for our penultimate round of this Eclectic and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred playing partners! Also note that signing up early helps a lot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.
