D.O.G.S. Fourth Round at Permata Sentul Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,

A very large group of 55 payers turned up for our 4th round at Permata Sentul. The course itself was also quite busy as they were fully booked in the morning and had a small tournament running concurrently with the D.O.G.S. Despite all this they had us out on the tee boxes a bit ahead of our scheduled tee time.

While not a fast round the pace plodded along steadily with only a few delays. There was a 5 ball on the course who refused the marshal's requests to break up; we have found out that they have all received letters and are no longer welcome at the course.

The weather and darkness cooperated with us allowing everyone to finish their round dry.

Welcome to Harry Taufiq, Joshua Panggabean, Aldi Aja, Wakit Zaenuri, Oya Oya and Ronnie Knowles who played their first rounds with the D.O.G.S. Randy Albert joined last week with JAWS and liked it so much he came back. After a very long hiatus we are happy to see Tony Wood coming out for a round. We hope you all enjoyed the day and will be back soon.

The weekly prizes were spread around with Juju Juhaeriah & Aldi Aja taking Nearest to Pins, Katsuaki Takahashi & Sarah Brown showing off their muscles for Longest Drives and Axel Hertzke & Craig Edwards showing a deft touch on the par 3's winning the Closest to Pin awards.

Timo Karonen displayed great putting skills winning Putting Champion while fellow Fin Jari Antikainen won the Booby Prize. Risa Tirtayasa got to see plenty of the course shooting a 119 to win Most Exercise. Gary Danskin "struggled" on the links and had to settle for a 76 and Lowest Gross. Octa Abram was feeling quite good about her 41 Stableford points until she found out they were only enough for Runner Up to Weekly Champion Andy Coop's 43.

While he didn't win any prizes Dave Prosser must be quite pleased with himself for getting an eagle on 18.

As always upon reaching week 4 the race for the Big Dog begins to take shape. There are less than 3 points separating Gary Danskin in 1st and Dave Prosser in 10th Place. The 8 players in between, which includes 4 former Champions, all have the potential to get to the front. There are also lots of improvements to be had for many other players who could jump right into the mix. Due to the rain last week we'll need 1 more week to see how the Lowest Gross will look.

Check out the latest standings on our Leaderboard.

Only 2 weeks left at this course; Come join us for our penultimate round.

Where: Permata Sentul Golf Club

When: Saturday, September 19, 2020

Tee Off: 12:30

Green Fee + Golf Cart: 750.000 IDR/person

As we need time to arrange groups and be prepared for the possibility of an early start we request players are at the course 1 hour early.

We had many players turning up after 12:00 last week which created quite a bit of confusion trying to fit people into groups while everyone was headed to the tee boxes. By arriving early we are able to avoid this.

If you would like to join us for a round there are several ways to register:

On play day if you are delayed arriving at the course please let us know and we will make arrangements for when you arrive. Similarly, please let us know if you decide not to play.

Forgot to sign up or made a late decision to play? No problem; last minute guests are always welcome but please WhatsApp us and let us know you are on the way.

See you at the course,

Covid-19 Player Safety

Playing is the sole decision of each player. There is adequate information available publicly on Covid-19 to allow each person to form their own judgement on playing and what steps should be taken to protect oneself and playing partners.

Thank you to everyone who has signed up and started to use the mygolf2u app. Each week we have more players entering their scores and this is very much appreciated. You will notice below there are still many who are not. We need everyone's help on this as it will greatly reduce our administration work once we get fully implemented.

If you have not yet signed up for the app please do so and let us know so we can add you to our Club in the app.

It is also good to see that some curious golfers are looking around at other features in the app. Some have discovered the Flight & Tee Boxes area. Please be aware that we are not using this feature other than to group players together, that have requested ahead of time, and assigning 1 scorer to the group. Unless you have made a specific request the groups are generated randomly and players aren't expected to play in those groups. Sign up for a group when you arrive at the course on our grouping board. Tee times are to be ignored in the app also. Do not arrive at the course with the expectation that you will be teeing off at the time in the app.

Scorecards will always be required even when we have online scoring. The scorecards will be considered the official record and will take precedence over what is entered in the app.

To that end it is imperative they be filled out correctly and signed by both player and marker.

Here are some common mistakes to look out for:

  • Not signed by player and scorer

  • Tee box used not ticked

  • Addition errors

  • Incorrectly calculated Stableford points. The rules for this are quite simple and available on the scorecards. If you need help, just ask.

Make sure you double check; we don't want to see anyone's scores discarded because of an incorrectly filled out card.

There are a few people who have not picked up their shirts and have an outstanding balance. You may check your order here to see your status. Payment can be made by bank transfer to:

  • BRI

  • John Bennett Brown

  • 0206-01-005444-56-4

Please send screenshot of transfer so we are able to identify where each payment is coming from.
