Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!
The D.O.G.S. gathered once again at Permata Sentul for the penultimate round of the Eclectic competition. With only two rounds remaining, players knew that every improvement could prove critical in the hunt for the Big Dog and Blue Jacket.
Once again, the weather gods smiled on the D.O.G.S. and provided excellent playing conditions. With nobody slowing us down, groups were able to move freely around the course and complete their rounds at an enjoyable pace. It's amazing how much more fun golf can be when you're spending your time playing rather than waiting.
A warm welcome to Stefaan De Beleyr and Reinaldo Gunawan, who joined us for their first D.O.G.S. round. We hope you both enjoyed the experience and look forward to seeing you back on the course again soon.
The prize table was well spread this week. Axel Hertzke and Richard Gowland shared Nearest to Pin honours, while Richard continued his excellent day by also claiming one of the Longest Drives. The other Longest Drive went to Matt Timbrell, who was clearly in no mood to leave empty-handed.
Axel Hertzke and Doug McQuater took home the Drive & Pitch prizes, while Matt continued his fine form by mastering the greens to take home the Putting Champion award.
Not content with winning Longest Drive and Putting Champion, Matt also fired an excellent 71 gross, earning Lowest Gross honours and securing Runner-Up. Unfortunately for Matt, one player managed to stay just ahead of him on the day.
The less glamorous, but much coveted, awards went to Stefaan De Beleyr, who made quite the first impression by collecting both the Booby Prize and Most Exercise awards. Welcome to the D.O.G.S., Stefaan. Many have started their D.O.G.S. careers in a similar fashion and gone on to greater things.
The final trip to the prize table belonged to Tim Fehling. Not only did Tim capture the Little Dog as Weekly Champion, he also achieved a major personal milestone by breaking 100 for the first time ever. Congratulations Tim. We suspect there may be many more milestones to come now that the barrier has been broken.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
At the top of the Eclectic leaderboard there was little movement this week. Paul Eckhardt retained the lead despite not playing, while Steve Sutton held onto second place without making any improvements. Doug McQuater continued to chip away at the lead, but his improvements were not quite enough to move him up the standings.
With just one round remaining, there is still plenty to play for. A few key improvements can make a significant difference in the final standings, and there are several players within striking distance of the leaders. Full results can be viewed on the leaderboard.
A final reminder regarding tee times. The course has generously been ready to let us start early every week. Unfortunately, we have also found ourselves waiting for late arrivals each week. Going forward, we will no longer delay the start. Players who arrive after play has commenced will need to make their way onto the course and join their group wherever they happen to be.
After five weeks of competition, it all comes down to one last round.
Who will don the Blue Jacket? Who will hoist the Big Dog?
Sign up now and join us for the finale.

Rules Information
KEEP YOUR CLUBS IN YOUR HANDS
The pressure of golf can get to all of us. A missed putt, a bad bounce, a lost ball, or that one shot that looked perfect until it wasn't.
This week at the U.S. Open, frustration got the better of Joaquin Niemann. After a disastrous hole, he threw a club and was assessed a two-stroke penalty for serious misconduct under Rule 1.2b, which covers behaviour contrary to the spirit of the game.
While the Rules of Golf do not normally penalize a player simply for showing frustration, Rule 1.2 allows penalties where conduct goes beyond the acceptable standards expected of golfers.
While most of us will never find ourselves under the spotlight of a U.S. Open, it is worth remembering that golf is largely self-policed. You would not want your behaviour to place your playing partners in the awkward position of having to decide whether a penalty should be applied. This is especially important in Match Play, where your opponent may be required to make that call. Keeping your composure not only protects your scorecard, it helps preserve the spirit of the game and the friendships that make golf so enjoyable.
So, if your next drive finds the trees, the water, or the fairway on the next hole over, take a deep breath. Throwing your club won't help the shot, and unlike at the U.S. Open, your fellow D.O.G.S. are unlikely to send a police officer to retrieve it for you.
Play hard, play fair, and keep the clubs in your hands.
