D.O.G.S. Penultimate Round at Rancamaya Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!

Well, I suppose it had to happen sometime - the rains to upset our afternoon of golf. Well it certainly did this week after 65 players had turned out for our fifth and penultimate round at Rancamaya Golf & Country Club.

Such a shame - the first time this year we have been washed out - but we did see some new faces so a big welcome to Daniel Morby, Jaime Alden, James Stuart, James Taylor, Soejatmiko Prasetyo, Trent Prestegar and Januar Triansyah. Bilal Aleem, who we haven't see for a while also joined. It was especially good to welcome back Takahashi san who was a regular D.O.G.S. player until he moved up to Vietnam a couple of years ago - great to see you back here on holiday.

How do we get back to the club house?

So, due to the fact that most people only managed to complete 9 or 10 holes, the Little Dog had to wait for another day. There were a few brave souls who went back out after the storm had cleared and managed to just about complete their rounds working around all the fallen trees and debris on the course. So we had a quick lucky draw to give out some D.O.G.S. goodies so at least some people could go home with a momento of the day.

Even the fairways were blocked!

The tunnel off the 17th green proved to be a safe haven to get out of the storm and enjoy a beverage during the delay.

Despite the conditions Eric Mary managed to hole out his second shot into the 5th hole for an Eagle 2 - a big congrats Eric.

Some really heavy rain nearly turned the tunnel into a river!

All the holes players completed counted towards the eclectic and we saw some significant movement this week. The gap between Anirudh Katre and the chasing pack is closing up with Willie Noronha now hot on his heels. Please check out the full standings on our Leaderboard page or in the myGolf2u app.

So there's still some golf left in this Eclectic Series.

Next week we have our annual big Rancamaya weekend with the JAWS game on Friday, the Charity Scramble on Saturday followed by the BBQ in the evening. Then on Sunday the final round of this Eclectic Series and the annual matchplay against Tee Set. If you want to play in the 2 person scramble please let me know your team partner - I have most but there's always singles looking!

Please also indicate if you will join for the BBQ in the evening - full details are given in the Special Announcement below.

So, as we say, grab a friend and sign up. Don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please also make sure you have confirmed that your preferred playing partners are their preferred paying partners! Please note that signing up early helps a lot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.

A strong gust of wind caused a player's ball to move on the putting green before they had a chance to mark and lift it. The player must replace the ball back on the original spot.
