A great day for our final round at Modern and the first combined DOGS/POCKSIA golf day. 22 D.O.G.S. cards handed in with a total of 8 flights getting away on time for the combined effort.
Appropriately Ron White, a long time DOG who also plays with POCKSIA took the day on countback from Keith Gorman; both with 37 points. For the first time anyone can remember Chris Buderlin clocked one of each of the skill flags great effort mate – what happened to the other 99 shots! Rita should let him out more often!
The POCKSIA dinner will have gone down well as their 288 best 8 total Stableford edged the DOGS 271, with many mumbled threats of “we’ll get ya next time”!
Congrats to the POCKSIA folks, it was a pleasure having you along – let's do it again some time.
The Eclectic at Modern for 2017, ended with a tight finish – Pieter Nielen-Groen holding off the Jari Rahtu Three-peat by 0.25 of a stroke, with Keith Gorman taking second runner up. Dirty Johnson managed to add yet another lowest gross 4 to his brimming trophy cabinet.
Many thanks to the Modern Golf club for looking after us in 2017, amazing how the course stayed in good nick despite the amount of rain we’ve had in the last 6 weeks.
