Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
A very busy course delayed play by about 30 minutes but our patience was rewarded with a semi shotgun start. Once off the tee, pace of play quickly picked up as the groups spread out and the 39 players who submitted scorecards were safely in the clubhouse enjoying refreshments long before darkness arrived.
Last week we saw an Eagle off the 1st tee; this week Tony Anson, was at the other end of the spectrum carding a 13 on 1st hole. Must have been winter rust as this was Tony's first D.O.G.S. round of the year. Tony managed to get sorted out finishing with 4 pars for the round.
Speaking of Dave Prosser's Eagle on 1 last week; he must have been a bit overconfident standing on the same tee box this week as he promptly put a "snowman" on his scorecard for the same hole. Dave still managed to make improvements on other holes and moved up a couple places on the leaderboard.
It was not Richard Mau's lucky day; despite shooting an 80 with 40 Stableford points he lost the Lowest Gross count back to Mark "Dirty" Johnson and the Weekly Champion count back to Andrew Mackin, settling for 1st Runner Up on the day. Congratulations Andrew on your big win!
