Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
Another big week with 38 golfers out for a tour around this great course. We were underway about 30 minutes ahead of schedule and blessed with clear skies for the day. The course even had a photographer on hand. Thanks to Umi we can share all his photos which can be found at the bottom of this message after Announcements.
We continue to march towards our goal of online scoring. To do so we need players to use the mygolf2u app. Thank you to everyone who has signed up and especially to those who are entering their scores. There is a lot of Administration that goes on during play days and behind the scenes in the week leading up to each game. Use of this app will help the committee immensely and add some fun to the game for those who want to see where they are against the field. Your help with this, by downloading and registering or the app and inputting your scores, is greatly appreciated. If you need assistance please ask.
Scorecards will still be required and if there are any differences between what is showing in the app and what is on the scorecards the scorecards will take precedent. As players are supposed to be switching scorecards with their playing partners use of this app will make it easier to check your card at the end of the round before signing.
While on the subject of scorecards we are still seeing a few issues with them such as:
Not signed by player and scorer
Tee box used not ticked
Addition errors
Incorrectly calculated Stableford points. This rules for this are quite simple and available on the scorecards. If you need help, just ask.
It is important and will become even more so in the future that everyone turns in correctly filled out scorecards.
Moving on to the day; a big D.O.G.S. welcome to Irwin Irwin, James Huang, Albert Santos and Bobby Cangkrama; we hope you all had fun and will be back with us soon!
No multiple prize winners this week, which is a bit of a novelty, the awards were shared around and the 4 ladies who turned up each won something. Well done Juju Juhaeriah, Umi S. Zaini, Sarah Brown and Risa Tirtayasa!
Our Lowest Gross winner was Gary Danskin with a 79 and Weekly Champion was Andy Coop who was so excited about winning he rushed off to tell his friends before picking up his trophy!
Congratulations to all of our winners! Full results can be viewed on our Leaderboard.
Next week we have a big day with our friends from JAWS joining us for match play competition. JAWS will be tough to beat as they have been getting ready for this for a while; playing a round at the course 2 weeks ago and shuffling their schedule to get in another practice round this week. Captain Dougy McQuater will be leading the D.O.G.S. and hoping to at least take a bite out of the big guns JAWS are bringing along.
Most importantly all game fees collected will be donated to YHOG to help them help them with their charity supporting facial reconstructive surgery for infants and children with cleft palates.
Besides the match play we will still be running our weekly Stableford game for the Little Dog, which everyone will be competing in. This promises to be a fun week so sign yourself up.
