Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

The D.O.G.S. gathered in the restaurant prior to play to plot their strategies for making improvements to their Eclectic scores. Once again, the course was in excellent condition and offered us an early start. With that invitation, players headed for their carts and sped off to their starting holes.
The weather was once again fabulous. The sun shone down on us for the entire round, requiring players to diligently maintain hydration in the form of pre-packaged 330ml cans.
With nobody in front of us, the lead groups were able to make excellent progress around the course. As a general reminder to all, please remember to keep pace with the group ahead of you. If you are a hole or more behind and not making up ground, you are playing too slowly. It's time to speed up or let the groups behind you through.
A warm welcome to Michael Adick, who joined us for his first round, further strengthening the D.O.G.S. German sub-community. Great to have you with us, Michael.

Prior to handing out this week's prizes, we took care of some unfinished business by presenting Harry Kwak with his Little Dog from Riverside Week 3.
Richard Mau had a great day, collecting four prizes: Nearest to Pin, Drive & Pitch, Lowest Gross, and Runner-Up. That's some very good golf, Richard.
Tony Tulus collected the other Nearest to Pin prize, while the Longest Drives were shared by Stuart Clark and Jude Alexander. Tomoaki Mazaki claimed the remaining Drive & Pitch prize.
Harry was our Putting Champion, recording a very low 24 putts. Jude may have been driving the ball well, but something clearly wasn't clicking elsewhere as he found himself taking home the Cricket Bat for the Booby Prize.
Following Round 1, we spoke about Marc Desilets' incredible journey from Most Exercise to Weekly Champion on consecutive rounds. Not content with just one remarkable turnaround story, Marc was back in the prize list this week, collecting another Most Exercise award.
Betha Wanggai rounded out the prize-giving by collecting the Little Dog as Weekly Champion. Congratulations, Betha.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
At the halfway point of the series, Richard Mau holds a narrow lead over Steve Sutton and Doug McQuater. They are by no means pulling away from the field, however, as the rest of the pack remains well within striking distance. Full results can be viewed on the leaderboard.

Rules Information
You arrive at your ball only to discover another ball sitting nearby. You confidently select one, play a wonderful shot, and then realise it wasn't yours.
In stroke play, playing a wrong ball carries a two-stroke penalty, and any strokes made with the wrong ball do not count. The mistake must be corrected by continuing play with the original ball (or a substituted ball under the Rules). Failure to correct the mistake before teeing off on the next hole results in disqualification.
The lesson is simple: if there is any doubt, take a moment to identify your ball before playing. A few seconds checking your markings can save you two strokes—or worse.
