Penultimate Round at Modern Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So, we came to our fifth and penultimate round in this Eclectic Series with 26 players making the journey out to Tangerang. With good weather and a dry course, the conditions couldn't have been better for a great afternoon's golf.

Good to see James Ross back with us - it's been a while - but always good to see old faces back.

Despite a busy course in the morning we still managed to get off slightly early with our usual semi shotgun off the back nine. Pace of play was generally good although it did slow up a bit nearing the end of the round and we all managed to finish before a little late afternoon rain came in - not unusual for this time of year.

So, we were all back relaxing in the outdoor area enjoying some welcome refreshment courtesy of San Miguel as the evening set in.

So, to the play: A good spread of winners this week with Bobby Cangkrama and Agnes taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes with the best tee shots as did Jaakko and John Gustke with their approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch honours. Claudio and Bruno hit the long drives of the day - oh, and safe travels Bruno hope to see you back again before too long.

Despite the greens being fast and true, Jude took the Pitting Champion prize with a unusually high number compared to previous weeks. Dennis Prangel and John Hawkins enjoyed the good weather taking the Booby and Most Exercise trophies home again with pretty respectable scores.

The rivalry between John Gustke and Jim Schneiders extended to include Dewi Wardoyo but Dewi prevailed with Jim having to settle for the Runner Up slot again with Dewi taking the Little Dog home as our Champion for this week.

A big congratulations to all our winners this week.

So, with 5 rounds complete it's still pretty tight at the top with more movement this week with a few of the top contenders being away. All the leaders have room for improvement so it's wide open.
