Round 3 at Rainbow Hills Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Twenty-five enthusiastic players ventured into the majestic highlands of the Bogor Region for our 3rd round of this eclectic series. The weather was once again stunning, though players remained cautious due to the rains that plagued the first two rounds. The course was primed and ready, allowing us an early start. With fantastic course conditions and challenging pin placements, the stage was set for an exciting challenge. As the game progressed, optimism soared that the weather would cooperate, despite a few distant rumbles of thunder during the late holes causing a bit of suspense. Fortunately the weather was kind to us and play was completed by all before dark. A great day of golf was concluded with everyone enjoying the cool evening air on the clubhouse deck for the prize ceremony.

Good to see Chris Barnett, Joe Phua and Jason Lee back with us. Don't be strangers.

An unfortunate incident during our round underscores the importance of maintaining vigilance on the course. One of our players sustained a significant cut on his leg on the very first hole. As he stepped up, he inadvertently struck his shin on a stone step. While it is easy to become relaxed while appreciating the beauty of the courses we play, the uneven terrain, along with steps, retaining walls, and other hazards, pose risks to golfers who are not attentive. It is crucial to always exercise caution on the course.

Chris made a triumphant return by taking a Longest Drive and Drive & Pitch. Not to be outdone Joe secured the Runner Up spot. The other prizes were shared around with Axel Hertzke grabbing the other Drive & Pitch, John Gutske a Nearest to Pin and Ameesh Anand Longest Drive. Poor Aknes had a challenging day on the course but found some solace by winning two awards: Most Exercise and the Booby Prize. The biggest smile of the day went to Roger Finnie who who swept up four prizes, including Nearest to Pin, Putting Champion, Lowest Gross, and most notably, Weekly Champion!

With only 3 rounds left, Richard Mau and Roger are leading the pack and determined to maintain their top spot! The rest of the field has plenty of pars to close out, promising an exciting second half of the tournament!
