Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So, we headed back up the hill for our fourth round in this Eclectic Series and were again greeted with blue skies and great conditions. The course was a busy as usual but we were ensured we would be able to get off on time. A total of 38 players got themselves ready for battle as the starters got everything ready for us.
The course was looking in great conditions and the morning Oil Men confirmed as they finished their round, but they warned us the greens were fast and some of the pin positions were challenging - well that was an understatement. It does seem that the guy at Rainbow who choses where the pins at located clearly is not a happy camper!!!

Welcome back to Harvey Hayman, who we haven't seen in a long time, and David Huang who brought along his mates Chan Yit Ming and Ravi Mirch from Singapore. We hope to see you all back soon
Well, having said we all got off on time, play progressed well for around 7 holes and then the rain came. Some stayed where they were or found a suitable shelter not too far away, whilst others were sufficiently close to the club house to make it back there and seek refreshment whilst waiting to things to improve. They did improve and play resumed for most. However, the delay of some 45 mins was just long enough for a few groups not to be able to complete their rounds. Remember, all completed holes do count towards the eclectic.
Anyway, sufficient players did complete and everyone was done in time for a full prize giving and enjoyed refreshing beverages provided by San Miguel during the prize giving.
So, to the play: Willi G and Simon Reynolds used the occasion to battle it out for a friendly matchplay and managed to take the Nearest to the Pin prizes as a result. Steve Sutton and Carter Cross hit very long drives to take the Longest Drive honours whilst Jaakko and Bobby Cangkrama hit good approach shots to take the Drive & Pitch prizes. Even with the difficult pin positions the greens were running true and consistent allowing John Gustke to become this week's Putting Champion.
Very much out of character, Daniel Park took the Booby prize home whilst Jens Muller settled for the Most Exercise trophy with a pretty respectable score - we've seen much worse - even from Jens!
Jacob Smith was one who ventured out after the rain to finish his round just before dark managed to collect the Runner Up prize for his efforts. This left a rather surprised Hitoshi to collect the Low Gross and Little Dog to be this week's Champion.
Congratulations to all our winners!
So with 4 rounds complete - well at least everyone has completed the full 18 holes at least twice, the leaderboard is very much moving around but slowly taking shape. There's still 36 holes left so all to play for. Joe Phua leads the race with several close behind. The race for the Low Gross Average will be taken from the best 3 rounds rather than the usual 4 due to weather affecting the number of players who will be able to complete the required number of rounds to qualify. Full results can be found on the leaderboard.
