Second Round at Permata Sentul Golf Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

What a glorious afternoon for golf with just about perfect conditions - we've had to wait a long time for this. This was the scene that that welcomed the 27 players who made it out to Permata Sentul for our second round in this Eclectic Series. The course was dry and the greens true and fast - 10 on the Stimpmeter we were informed.

Great to see old Dog Jeff Landau back again, but this time with his son, Dillon both single figure handicappers!. Also good to see Andrew Goode back from his first tour in China and Syed Bilal Mahmood back after quite some absence - at least from the Dogs - great to see you all back with us.

As usual we got off on time with our semi shotgun on the back nine. Pace of play was good and with a near perfect sky and a gentle breeze everyone finished in daylight and in good time - could we actually be creeping into the dry season!!!

So, to the play: Steve Sutton was the only multiple winner this week taking one each of the Longest Drive and Drive & Pitch. Hitoshi took the other Longest Drive and Jacob Smith the other Drive & Pitch. The Nearest to the Pin prizes went to Jude and Dewi Wardoyo - good to see her win something for skill rather than adding to her collection of not-so-skillful prizes!!

With both Roger and Richard playing this week it was perhaps no surprise it took a count back to determine who would be this week's Putting Champion - this time it was Roger!!

Axel went home immediately after the round due to not feeling well as was evident in him winning the Booby Prize - his first and I suspect his last! Paul Barnett slipped back into his old ways and struggled around taking the Most Exercise Trophy home.

Our very own Kevin "Yo Dogs" Dobson shot to handicap to be this week's Runner up and returning Bilal took the Little Dog home as this week's Champion - don't leave it so long before you're back again please!

There were problems with the myGolf2u app and we thank everyone for getting their scorecards submitted in good time so we could manually enter scores - all done in good time and thank you for your understanding and support.

So, with 2 weeks now complete the Eclectic leaderboard is starting to take shape with the top 3, Axel, Chris Barnett and Hitoshi running neck and neck - but there's still 4 more rounds and a lot can change. you can check out the full results on the leaderboard.

Next week our friends from POCKSIA will be joining us for their monthly medal so our numbers should be up - great - let's just hope for a great weather day again. Everyone please sign up as early as you can and may we also request that you let Rod or JB know you playing partner preferences as soon in the week as you can and preferably not late on a Friday - we're entitled to a relaxing Friday evening too!!! - thanks.
