Third Round at Imperial Klub Golf

Hail the D.O.G.S. !!!!!

Play continued this week at Imperial Klub Golf with the group teeing off right on schedule at 12:00 from Tee Boxes 1 and 10. With rain hammering Jakarta for most of the week, expectations were low for a dry round, but the golfing gods were kind and players managed to remain dry.

As is usual for a Saturday the course was busy, yet pace of play held up well and most groups completed their rounds in around four and a half hours, leaving plenty of time for post-round stories, scorecard inspections and the usual friendly debate over what almost went right.

We proudly welcome Jagdeve Babu G Harikrishnan as he joins us for his inaugural D.O.G.S. round.

An impressive lineup of winners this week, with Ezra Alexander and Paul Eckhardt clinching the Nearest to Pin prizes. Stuart Clark and Terence Martin dominated the Long Drives, while Axel Hertzke and Marc Desilets showcased their expertise by winning the Drive & Pitch awards with consecutive outstanding shots.

Ash Hewitt, who recently withdrew to sidestep the Booby Prize, confidently found his rhythm on the greens this week, emerging as the Putting Champion. Michael Benner delivered an energetic performance, earning both the Booby Prize and the Most Exercise award, demonstrating once again that at D.O.G.S., effort is always acknowledged, even if the scorecard doesn't always reflect it.

Jeff Colbert delivered the day's lowest gross, demonstrating that Imperial can indeed be mastered with precise ball-striking and a reliable putter. True to his reputation, Don Duttlinger played another steady round, securing the Runner Up position. Meanwhile, Paul Eckhardt is consistently enhancing his performance each week and emerged as our Weekly Champion.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners.

At the halfway mark of the tournament, the Eclectic and "The Imperial Klub Golf – Rod Williams Memorial Challenge" have the same top three players in identical order: Don Duttlinger, Paul Eckhardt, and Richard Mau. This sets the stage for an exciting second half.

Full results for the Challenge and Eclectic are available on the leaderboard.

We have been fully subscribed for the past two weeks, so it's advisable to sign up early to secure your spot for the Antepenultimate Round. Please inform JB if you have a grouping preference.

Rules Information

If you find your ball behind a cart exit sign or yardage marker, are you allowed to move the sign?

Yes, you can usually move a golf cart exit sign if it's an easily movable obstruction, like a lightweight plastic one, but if it's a permanent fixture (immovable), you only get free relief if it interferes with your swing, stance, or lie, otherwise you play it as it lies or take penalty relief. The key is whether you can move it without unreasonable effort or damage to the course or sign.
